Nancy Pelosi and the Astroturfers in Denver

User avatar
Our good friend El Marco in Colorado attended Pelosi's visit to Denver with his camera. She was met by anti-government protesters as well as government astroturfers. El Marco graphically illustrates exactly what astroturfing is and how it is intended to stifle dissent in America.

Highly recommended.

El Marco makes one very shrewd observation: Obamunists always complain about the "swastikas" on the protesters' signs, but not about the "hammers and sickles" that are just as widely represented at the same protests and are being used just as sarcastically. Hmmm...

El Marco wrote:Commonly at the tea parties and anti-big government protests hammers and sickles are used to protest democrat policies. The Democrat Party doesn't seem to have a problem with wall to wall hammers and sickles and has never complained publicly. Maybe they think it's a compliment? I find that interesting and very telling.

El Marco tells me that he would hate to take Comrade Red to task for a comment, but feels that he must. Hammers and sickles are as common as house sparrows at conservative protest rallies. Swastikas, on the other hand, are extremely rare, and usually not present at all. So to say that hammers and sickles are "just as widely represented" as swastikas is, I'm sorry to say, comrade, decadently inaccurate. El Marco is presently working on a photographic history of conservative protest in America. He can demonstrate this positively and accurately with photographic evidence.

What a glorious time it is to be a prog. No need to hide ourselves any more. We can wear our hammers and sickles with pride, and drink O'Pepsi in public.

User avatar
Dammit! We thought you were going to show us a great example of how The One and our astroturf is taking on these Rethuglican paid insurance company whores! What is wrong with our community astroturf organizers!?!

We need to get this together comrades!

The kid obviously thinks his t-shirt stands for FDR's Civilian Conservation Corps.

He's really against global whining.

I was thinking the same thing about the hammer and sickle thing there Red.

Of course you were, Commissar_Elliott. No thought is ever individual, but exists as a collective achievement of all. And thus the fruits of thinking, if any, must be shared by all equally.

I'm afraid you are correct, Ronitchka. To tell you the truth, I'm not a big fan of a prolific use of swastikas in protests, just like I'm not a big fan of prolific cursing. Both swastikas and curses should be reserved for special occasion to express the strongest emotions.

Progs, on the other hand, use both very liberally at their protests. In the Bush years they had as many swastikas at their rallies as any regular Nazi gathering. The Dems didn't complain about that either - they just took it as a given.

This has to be my favorite:
<img width="570" src="https://www.lookingattheleft.com/wp-con ... G_0066.jpg">

I'm wondering if the above signs have photos and the same information on their opposite sides, are are these guys simply holding them the wrong way?

And how do they expect anyone to read them? I can just see some little old bag lady only 4 feet tall, stepping right up to them and holding on to her spectacles while she puts a crick in her neck trying to make out the fine print.

But you know who'd be the perfect subject for this? And I'm rather surprised he's not out there in the trenches considering all he's allegedly endured in recent years. How about a picture of the Mime along with some illegible scrawl spelling out his trials and travails? How he might have had colorectal cancer and had to shanghai all his artsy/carnie friends into doing fundraisers to help him raise money for his $10,000 deductible, and how he was finally forced to poop his tumor into a public restroom in Janesville, WI? What kind of country is this where something like that has to happen?

Frankly, if these people put my picture and accompanying sob story on signs like these, I'd die of shame before I died of whatever ailment my insurance company refuses to cover. At least I hope I would.

Ah Pinkie, don't lie, you're the perfect victim. I mean all those men who ruined your life, Dr Strangelove included, and then there's all the times Yellena made, MADE!, you go get the shovel to clean out the toilet. I mean it's been horrible Pinkie, absolutely horrible, admit it.

And PAINFUL, did I mention painful? Remember the time Red Square tried to set you up with that mustached kid Snoogy Woogums, WHAT WAS THAT! And then he dumped you for Charlena!

Broken, just broken, like the Alana Morisette tune you used to listen to over and over in the bathroom while shoveling out the toilet when the Doctor broke your heart.

Yes, Rooster, I have a whole deck of victim cards to play.

But pick up your quizzing glass, crane your neck, and squint at those stories. If I correctly decipher the one on the far left, the lady in question already has Medicare, but also has two additional health insurance plans to cover her medical expenses. Why doesn't Medicare cover everything? And if it doesn't, why should I believe Obamacare will?

The middle one is the result of stupidity. She had a perfectly good insurance plan of her own until her local government granted health benefits to "domestic partners" of employees, and she leaped over to that one. Then they revoked it. That's what governments do. Military retirees and their dependents were promised free medical for life until a few years ago when the government decided to start charging them for it. Why should I believe Obamacare won't do the same?

As for the third person, if both she and her husband are disabled and have a "very limited income" then they should already be getting government assistance. Why should I believe Obamacare will be an improvement on what's already out there?

Because WE™ said so. Reading is not important, neither is it important for the astroturf to give a crap. Afterall it saves them from having to hang out in from of Home Depot for the day looking for undocumented work. What's important is that WE™ said so.

And WE™ know what's best for you.

Would Mikel's tumor be silent but deadly?

That or, if the disease doesn't kill you, flee the state, change your name, etc. this way, you will be hidden from them.
