Obama's bus tour hits bump or The Magical Misery Tour

User avatar
Comrades,

Papa Obama's started his most great bus tour through Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Sadly, another bad jobs report came out during his bus tour showing 8.2% unemployment, the worst quarter in 2 years - Damn these fascists capitalists for not doing their part!

Worry not- Papa Obama has a plan- Disability
The economy might have only created 80,000 jobs in June, but that same month, 85,000 workers left the workforce entirely to enroll in the Social Security Disability.

Papa Obama's genius should never be underestimated!
No Job - no problem- Put then on Disability and keep them dependent on gov't-
A pure Progressive dream !

Comrades, this is only a temporary setback and besides,
As Papa Obama says, most people "Would Acknowledge That I've Tried Real Hard"

I could not agree more, we all know he is "trying"

Ahhh, Comrade - this can only mean that my personal favorite - the Black Album - is right around the corner (hopefully by Next Tuesday™!). The Black Album will feature such favorites as "Back in the USSA", "Taxday (You say it's your Tax Day)", "Why Don't We Do It in the Gulag", and - of course - "Julia".

PS - Rumor has it that Joe Biden was the Walrus!

Day after day, from Capitol Hill,
The prez full of Marxist bullshit's keeping at it, still!
But few voters want to know him,
They can see that he's just a fool,
And he's so full of excuses,
He's the Fool from the Hill!

Sees the economy's dead,
And he's still blaming Bush,
What a damn worthless clown!

Golfing away, head in choom cloud,
The man with no fucking clue always babbling aloud
But few voters ever hear him,
or the bullshit they know is fake,
but he never seems to notice
He's the Fool from the Hill!

Sees the jobless rate soar,
But he could care less,
Long as he can play golf!

And voters no longer like him,
they have seen what he wants to do,
he still thinks that he's a genius,
But he's the Fool from the Hill!

He's a damn empty suit,
And he doesn't know shit,
And his failures abound!

Ooh, ooh,
Round and round and round.

And he never listens to us,
He don't know we think he's a fool
We don't like him,
The Fool from the Hill!

Sees his poll numbers fall
And his mind's nearly dead,
See the world turning brown.

Ooh,
Round and round and round

It's really ironic when you can include a Beatle's song that needs no rewriting…

He's a real nowhere Man,
Sitting in his Nowhere Land,
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody.
Doesn't have a point of view,
Knows not where he's going to,
Isn't he a bit like you and me*?

Nowhere Man, please listen,
You don't know what you're missing,
Nowhere Man, the world is at your command.

He's as blind as he can be,
Just sees what he wants to see,
Nowhere Man can you see me at all?

Doesn't have a point of view,
Knows not where he's going to,
Isn't he a bit like you and me*?

Nowhere Man, don't worry,
Take your time, don't hurry,
Leave it all 'till somebody else lends you a hand.

He's a real Nowhere Man,
Sitting in his Nowhere Land,
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody.

*This is assuming we're occupiers or people who voted for Dear Leader.

Another dusty remembrance came to mind: when the Beatle's filmed Magical Mystery Tour, the hope was to drive a bus around England hoping interesting things would happen that would make an interesting movie. However, nothing interesting happened except the creation of a really good metaphor for a presidential reelection campaign decades later.

You're right, I remember that. The critics trashed them for it, used words like "pompous", "self-absorbed" and "egomaniacal." Some suggested that the acclaim they had received for Sgt. Pepper had maybe gone to their heads. The press was generally blunt about what they thought of it.

I saw the movie on TV a year or two afterwards and it was pretty dull, kind of an early version of reality TV. And our modern journ0lists went wild over pretty much the same thing in 2008, only without the Beatles' songs. Change!

Shouldn't that be the Tragical Misery Tour?
