WASHINGTON DC- President Obama announced during an early morning press conference that he has signed an executive order that will have the First Lady's image replace Andrew Jackson's portrait on the twenty dollar bill.

"I was tired of all the bickering and arguing," Obama told the press. "So last night, as I was laying in bed with Michelle, an idea came to me. I turned to my wife and said, 'Why don't I end all this arguing and put your face on the twenty?'"

The notion of putting a female face on the twenty dollar bill is not new; feminist groups have been strongly pushing for Harriet Tubman to be pictured instead of Andrew Jackson, but the decision from the White House has caught progressive and conservative groups alike completely by surprise.

"I wanted to choose someone who I knew most of the nation would appreciate and stand behind," Obama stated. "It was only natural that I chose Michelle, as I honestly believe that after all the good she has done for this country, she deserves some recognition."

"I would also like to say that I have plans to put my own image on the five dollar bill," Obama continued. "I know that future generations will definitely print my face on more than one denomination of currency. So if it's going to happen anyways, what's the point in waiting?"

Legal and financial experts familiar with the executive order confirm that the printing of the new $5 and $20 bills will commence on July 1st, so as they can appear in circulation in time for the July 4th fireworks.

Conservatives responded to the news with predictable outrage, by circulating an online petition with demands to preserve Jackson's image and legacy, with some of them going as far as disseminating irresponsible chain emails containing uninformed rumors that "this is the first time in U.S. History when a sitting president has arrogantly forced his wife's picture on our nation's currency."

In contrast, Michelle Obama modestly accepted the honor by saying only that this was the second time in her adult life that she was proud of this country.
