R.I.P. Larry Grathwohl

Our friend, Larry Grathwohl, has died.

Larry served our country above and beyond the call of duty by infiltrating Weather Underground subversives and reporting on their seditious plots to the FBI, on which he would later testify before Congress.

Lest people think that the Weather Underground is a forgotten movement from US history, many of its former leaders now hold prominent roles in academia and serve in key Obama administration positions. The WU still calls the shots, having exchanged bombs for briefcases, and actively promoting the destruction of America.

This year Larry republished his book Bringing Down America, which chronicles his experiences with the Weathermen, and went on a book tour. We met him when he visited Florida and became friends.

He was funny, had a sharp mind, and was an eloquent speaker. We consider ourselves lucky for being able to spend some quality downtime with Larry and on several occasions pick his brain about his life with the radicals and beyond, over a bottle of Maker's Mark, his favorite.

We wrote about Larry Grathwohl and his work here:

Larry Grathwohl, Hero

Bringing Down America with the Company You Keep

Larry Grathwohl during a 1970 arrest in New York while still underground. After the botched police bust revealed his identity, WU sentenced him to death for "crimes against the people."

If the world were fair, the news of Larry's passing would be scrawled across every news broadcast. But in a world run by the former subversives, "fairness" means lynch mobs, government-organized theft, suppression of the truth, and glorification of crime.

If the world were fair, Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Mark Rudd, et. al, would be in federal prison, schoolchildren would be taught the real definition of communism, and American ideals would continue to be the guiding light of the free world.

With the passing of Larry Grathwohl, America grew a little dimmer.

RIP Larry...my thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. You were, and will always be, a real hero to this nation.

It crosses my mind that he has been somehow killed by those who never forgave him. They own the world now, why would they forgive their worst enemy ever? Coincidence that he died in Obama's second term?

I was 28 and in grad school when the WU was at their peak. Their leaders were low lives then, and remain so to this day. Larry did his part, and more, to reveal their filthy plans. Thank you Larry Grathwohl.

Another unsung *real* hero. Bless you Larry Grathwohl!

And thanks for posting this, Larissa.

Dear Madam Comrade Bigger Half of our Great Incarnadine Trapezoid Leader,

The Price of Knowledge was that bad things happen to good people. Brother kills brother. But those who defend good, cultivated the wisdom to know when the pen is mightier (or at least more appropriate) than the sword. With this wisdom, as with all knowledge, comes the danger that those who will evil upon the world will discover this truth and turn it against those who defend good. Exchanging bombs that maim bodies for briefcases and words that maim minds is the danger we face when those who would will evil upon the world adopt our wisdom and use it against us. It is not fair... It is not just... But it is the reason we must continue to wield our pens with great might. And it is the reason this site exists - to keep us wise and knowledgeable, and to defend what we know is right.

Sometimes one of our fellow warriors falls, and we must honour them. But the best way for us to do this is to keep wielding our pens and our ideas in defense of what we know is right.

Never Forget,
Shovel and Pens Sharp, Comrades!
Sis
