Real Liberals aren't Liberals. Live and Learn...

User avatar
I was a liberal. Dad worked a union job, we lived in a rent controlled apartment, and we were taught to help people in need. I was the smart kid and loved the praise I would receive from teachers. I went to public school in Brooklyn NY and graduated from Brooklyn College. I became a public school teacher.

Becoming a teacher taught me something…that liberals really aren't “liberal”. They are the kids that run up to me crying “no fair” when they made out playing whiffle ball during PE. Another teacher once went back to the students and made them let this child get another turn at bat…then another…then another. After swinging and missing about 20 times the child finally hit the ball weakly. He wasn't satisfied though; he screamed “no! I want to hit it “goodly” (I did mention this is public school right?)”. We will teach this kid better excuses, blame tactics, and the art of being a victim.

In Brooklyn College I had to attend courses taught by Priya Parmar. Go ahead and Google her name. Did you do it? Yes? Well what you read is true. She required me to teach a math class that included “hip-hop and literacy” and show that FOX news lies. To be fair to FOX news they never charge tuition so one can forgive them if they choose to do what we do, promote a political agenda while debunking the opposition's view of the world.

It was during the past year that I was forced to open my eyes. I have a friend who works in a hospital in South Florida. She is worried about losing her job because they are facing layoffs. The reason is that insurance is no longer reimbursing them as much as they once did. A test that costs approximately $1300 is now reimbursed approximately $86.

I mentioned what was happening to the hospitals in her area on Facebook. Naturally this was all the “1%'s” fault. Ahhh yes, the OWS movement…a bunch of losers who spew Hitler's rhetoric with the PC term for “Jew”. They hate an evil rich minority that is responsible for…well you know the story, unless your education was limited to what the UFT approves of.

Here is a typical OWS idiot who clearly wanted me not to mention how Obamacare is causing hospital layoffs in Miami Dade and Broward county.

https://www.facebook.com/democrats

“Dale Ankney ‎@sara, sad your a slow person, you must be a 1%er, I say live where your money is, or pay more for your protection while living in America, & they wouldn't be successful if there was no labors, no one would even know them. So did you steal from the people that made it for you, if so, you know you will pay it back. My Dad is long gone, but your welcome for your grandmother freedom, he was there in an American uniform. So be happy with your money, but let me remind you, GOD Almighty is watching & has been for a long time, & you can't hide, so will your works just go up in smoke. I'll bet anything you won't return to Israel & live, if you are jewish. So while your here enjoy your welfare freedom”
The GOP seems like what I believed the DNC to be. I despise the OWS Nazis and refuse to teach this “99% vs. 1%” crap they encourage us to teach to children with your tax dollars. The union is not very supportive of my decision. Having lived in Brooklyn I know very well the mindset and character of union leaders so I blame myself for being surprised by their reaction to my refusal.

When I blamed myself for a mistake I had made I realized I am not an American liberal.

User avatar
The "99% vs the 1%" is just warmed over Marxism for the working class vs the capitalist class. 1% isn't just another word for Jew. It's thinly veiled class warfare Marxism.

Welcome home, by the way. Long time, no see.

Now lighten up and have fun.

User avatar
Hi Otis!

Thank you. I appreciate it.

I don't know how to lighten up or have fun though. Perhaps we can elect people who can make everyone else miserable and aggravated so we can all be equal?

PROG OFF-

It is not thinly veiled Marxism, it is open Marxism. To label a segment of the popluation as populist, such as the "99%ers" you create a Bolshevik movement, whereby you do not actually need the majority of the population but merely the perception to create a class distinction. The only thing that is missing is an October Revolution to spur them to violent revolt, or some other nonsense trigger.

Welcome to the old paradigm. It wasn't the wrong paradigm, after all. Even if some things in it were off, they weren't off exactly the way the proponents of the new paradigm would want us to believe.

New Paradigm wrote:I don't know how to lighten up or have fun though.
Trying to re-connect the dots of objective reality in your mind is just one of the fun activities you can entertain yourself with. That project may take a while, but I promise many interesting adventures. Tell us how it goes. Most of us can relate, I'm sure.

User avatar
Egad, it's honesty time.

I too, am a former liberal and a public school teacher. It took me a while to "come out" to all of my liberal friends. It was during the 2008 election and my liberal friends were demonizing Sarah Palin while accommodating Ahmadinejad. I could no longer keep my trap shut. They tried to deprogram me, but now we just don't discuss politics as much as we used to.

I've been teaching long enough that I've found ways to teach students in spite of our official curriculum.

As for lightening up and having fun, The People's Cube is a great resource, but general sarcasm goes a long way toward helping me keep what's left of my sanity.

Even as a youth, instead of sharing my toys, I leased them to other children. I am so ashamed now after President Obama has shown me the way.

While I don't always agree with him, Michael Savage was 100% right on when he stated that "Liberalism is a mental disorder".

Think about it, seriously: most liberals are essentially immature people who want to be protected, provided for, etc., and who want everything to be equal for everyone regardless of the fact that human nature simply doesn't work that way. Basically they're people who never really grew up and who are afraid to be responsible for their own success or failure.

Savage IS correct, and the more you think about it, I think the more you'll agree. The very idea of true liberty, which requires personal responsibility and hard work, is anathema to them - in a phrase, it's scary as hell.

And by the way, if what I've read so far is any indication, we should be buying his new book "Trickle Down Tyranny" by the case to give to people who don't yet get it.

Now where was I?

As Thomas Sowell said, "If you have always believed that everyone should play by the same rules and be judged by the same standards, that would have gotten you labeled a radical 50 years ago, a liberal 25 years ago and a racist today."

Today's "liberal" is not a liberal, he/she/it is just a fascist only with a much crappier wardrobe.

User avatar
Yep. Say what you will about their ideology, but Nazis were snappy dressers.

As a youth, instead of sharing my toys, I shared the toys of others - permanently - when their backs were turned. It was the only fair thing to do. Toys, after all, are a civil right.

Further proof (if there was ever any doubt) that Stalin is, was and forever will be more equal.

minister without portfolio,
You are right, I have lost count of how many had implied they looked forward to “the revolution” while tossing in language that is meant to intimidate. It reminded me of how the mobsters would speak. Many become extremely enraged when they hear verbal opposition to the mass theft they desire.

Great Stalin's Ghost,
I understand completely. I'm naturally sarcastic. One time I sarcastically said to a bunch of colleagues that we should fail a child when we spotted a McCain sticker on his mother's car. Three of them said they were thinking the same thing!

EXACTLY! It's just that I don't consider them liberals. They are masquerading as liberals to hide their true nature. I think back to when I first came to this site to fight with everyone and Oleg allowed me to voice my opinions. He never silenced me despite not agreeing with me. That is what a real liberal does.

I agree. I “became” a liberal years ago. I just didn't want to accept that the DNC changed. The GOP looks like the old DNC now. I was “accused” of being a republican many times for having certain views. It didn't register with me that leftwing radicals took over.

Ivan Betinov, ThePeoplesComrade, and Great Stalin's Ghost,
Thanks for a much needed laugh.

Thanks, I appreciate the sentiments. I also thank you for allowing me to be a pain on your site. That you permitted me to post here was one thing that I noticed today's “liberals” wouldn't stand for.
I also have seen and read much of your work these past months and it has been bitter-sweet. Sad that I didn't catch what was happening to “my side” and reassuring that there are those that can articulate it so well. You have been a big help.
PS I remember a rooster or something like that, does he/she still post?

User avatar
Hehe. If the rooster were a she, he would be a hen. Yes, he's still around.

And you're welcome. I'm glad my work helped.

New Paradigm, there's an old adage - "If you're not a liberal when you're young, you have no heart; if you're not a conservative when you're old, you have no brain."

I think that says a lot - we all wish that human beings could just get along, share, love one another, etc., but it really simply isn't human nature to do so. It may start out that way in a socialist community, but it most assuredly won't end that way.

I highly recommend that you read Oleg's book, "Shakedown Socialism" - he does a very good job of explaining how human nature really DOES work, and from the vantage point of someone who's lived it and seen its inevitable outcome. Seriously, you'll be glad you read it, and I suspect that you'll want to pass it on. Red Square did a VERY good job in that relatively short/small book of explaining exactly what "socialism" is really all about, as well as showing where it will inevitably lead.

Thank you, by the way, for being so open - it's appreciated, and it's refreshing :)

Oh - wait -

Thanks R.O.C.K.,

I agree with the heart mind phrase now. I admit though that I held onto to what my younger clueless self thought despite the experience I had to contradict the crap I attached to my original view. I always felt "I'll do my thing and you do your thing and we just are civil to each other". I feel into the trap of having my compassion be exploited by clever excuse makers.

I also picked up smoking as a kid and resisted the proof that it was a poor decision. Then I blamed everyone but myself for it...then I realized "my bad".

Pride goeth before the fall as they say...

Thank you for your sentiments. I really appreciate it.

Comrades! Before I start hearing Kumbaya around the camp fire, get your butts to work protesting somewhere. Enough of this hand holding.

We were temporarily out of Communist Pinko marshmallows and had to settle for White Hispanic. They lack that rebellious satisfaction of Communist Pinkos but still, they churn up the camp fire.

We had used up all our Pinkos on the Easter Display.

er... PROG OFF ... er ON... You Decide!
Happy Birthday!!!! (sorry, late again... geeesh!) NP, as Chamberlain said (... and I guess), "If you are not a "liberal' in youth you are heartless, if you not a "conservative" in older age then you are brainless." (Just ask Brain In A Jar!) Hell! I'm no uhhhmmmm.... (what the hell is the latin term Father Prog? It makes it all sound more important!), but I've been there, and many of us have, especially those comrades from east of the west... I can't imagine how they still do what they do, but they do, and for that I am truly thankful. God (metaphor or not) thank them!

As some see it, "conservative" merely means conserving that (OMG!) ancient document called The Constitution. The most liberal governmental document in human history. While "liberal" was many years ago applied to socialism et al. Just say thank you Marcuse and STFU! and take your LSD!

Everything green is blue, and everything red is violet (thanks to the blue). Putin loves you and is always looking out for the worlds best interest. ( He's cooool dammit! Just like Obama!) Thank Obama that we can finally see things clearly.

And fuck 'em! I was born a minority and the little bitch has done fucked up my people and my peace in the world. I dreamed, as MLK said, and this is the nightmare....

Purple ass bitch lips and all.... (sorry, I've had enough)

Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva rejoice! Now is the time of your vindication!

Welcome New Paradigm, you remind me of a young dreamers dream.... isn't it nice to be young again?

User avatar
Oh and yes, he (moi) is definitely resigned to be a hen (for now). And the hatch-lings are doing just fine I might add, learned to read, tie their shoes, and ride a bike just fine while the rooster roosts - hatching capable fowl is such hard work for supposed biological hens on comrade Obama's androgynous watch... we roosters fill in where we must in the collective.
