Taggart Transcontinental T-shirt?

User avatar
I accidentally came across this image on Cafepress today and thought it was really cool. (For those who don't know what this means, read "Atlas Shrugged").

Those guys only sell buttons with this image. But imagine how cool would be to have a shirt with it?

They do sell calendars too (you can click the picture to go there):

This place sells t-shirts (you can click the picture to go there) they have Taggart shirts but not with the same train logo:

This John Galt place has a wide variety of Atlas Shrugged themed junk - nothing very good. They don't feature my favorite characters. I want an Oren Boyle t-shirt.

Rearden Steel wasn't bad, but I agree that the selection isn't too impressive. I like the idea of the Taggart Transcontinental T-shirt because if you wear it, it looks as if you're an employee or a manager.

Trains have been somewhat a recurring theme with TPC and CFK. I can imagine a different sort of train for a TPC t-shirt.

ALL ABOARD!

True. Here's a real quote. Was it Marx or Lenin who said this? I don't remember...

Revolutions are locomotives of progress.

Especially considering that the box cars behind the locomotives are chock-full of repressed kulaks and other counter-revolutionary element.

Quite a metaphor that needs to be developed but I gotta run.

Try to google "locomotive of progress" or "locomotives of progress"and you'll see how popular this phrase is among the progressive writers, starting with The Atlantic Online.

Talk of trains and slogans aside, I read Atlas Shrugged a few months ago and almost shat myself. Was Rand a prophet? Was it really written in 57? Coulda been hammered out after a few days of parusing The Daily Kos or Democratic Underground, switching to Limbaugh, then back again. Amazing book. I think I shall suggest it be banned from The People's libraries.

Union Boss, Atlas Shrugged has nothing to do with today's world. As I wrote in a previous post:

$.$. Halliburton wrote:You crazy commies. You're all so paranoid. Galt's Gulch, indeed. For those that don't know, this is a reference to Ayn Rand's book Atlas Shrugged. Please, allow me to say this about that:

It's long been realized that Ayn Rand's ideas no longer have any relevance in today's world. In Atlas Shrugged she was writing about the railroad industry. The railroad industry is no longer a major driving force of the economy. There are no Randian villains destroying the railroads. And, there is no "Miracle Metal." Many of Rand's ideas had some relevance decades ago but, since she was writing about the economics of railroads and steel, it's easy to see that her ideas have gone the way of buggy whips and Ben Franklin stoves. She is irrelevant.

The major driving force of the world today is energy. I'm proud to say that Big Government and Big Business have found common ground on the issues of anthropocentric global-warming and rational energy policy. That's why we've been working hand-in-hand to reduce carbon dioxide while promoting a robust economy! Big Government and Big Business with the help of you, the little people, can make this work. Atlas Shrugged? Galt's Gulch? As I said, that was about railroads. What we're doing today has never been done before. We've never tried this with the entire energy sector. The UN assures me everything will be okay. So, at Halliburton Alternate Energy and Carbon Credit Trust Corporation Group our advertising slogan is:

My post at Tenet: New Findings, Bush Interned Japanese

Wasnt Enron run by the equivalent of Oryn Boyle? Big Energy, indeed.

Enron... haven't heard that in a while. That was fun. Listening to people complaining about it while being blissfully ignorant at the same time. Aahhhh.... Good times.
