The Progressive School of Double-Negatives

Oh, Comrade - this is SUCH a most equally excellent template for progs to use in our daily lives!

Might I suggest an addition to your tips?

To wit: Yell. Preferably bring others with you to yell, in order to drown out whatever the conservative(s) are saying. They were lying anyway. And if you can't hear them, you were right all along.

Let's see how we can untangle, deconstruct, and turn to our advantage this long, one-minute-long sentence.

Dr. Barbara Bellar Candidate for Illinois State Senate, District 18 sums up Obamacare in one sentence.

This chart is too long and complicated for us to follow with our room-temperature IQs. We prefer to get to the heart of our argument quickly and then move on....

Sure, there's a couple of things that can be fine-tuned. But we can't throw the baby out with the bath water. Are you against people having health care? People need health care. We can't deny people health care.

You're either for people and health care or you're a monster... monster.

Get the monster! Get the monster!

[Sorry, the only thing between you and the pitchforks is me. Nothing personal.]

Leave it to a "genius" Illinoiz politician to explain ObamacareTAX™ in one sentence. One look at the condition of that state explains why there are more "geniuses" per square mile than anywhere else in the entire Kingdom.

Calls of "Racist!", while extremely effective in silencing the opposition, should be the last resort, when your long-winded, circular, pseudo-intellectual argument fails. It's the Progressive way.

Excellent point, Comrade R.O.C.K. This popular expression has been modified to be kinder and gentler.

Original version: "If a liberal lies, is it really a lie?"
Progressive version: "If a tree falls in the forest, does it make a sound?"

Comrade Olga, the utterance of "Racist!" is normally the first slander argument we make. The only reason anyone who is not a prog would oppose Ear Leader is because of his dark skin. Sure, they can claim that they would oppose a white man with the same proposals and policies, but we know they are lying racists. So, the "racist!" argument trumps all arguments in the counter-revolutionaries' arsenal. If we allow a reich-winger to speak, he may use facts and logic, and then we are at a disadvantage. You well know a true prog will react to facts and logic the same way a vampire reacts to sunlight. Don't give them the opportunity to destroy a prog! As soon as a Rethuglican starts to open his/her mouth, just start screaming "racist!" at the top of your lungs.

So, in other words, approximately thirty seconds into the debate? That's been my experience.

According to noted political analyst Alec Baldwin, if Dear Leader was White, he'd be up +17 in every poll. We truly are a nation of racists. We are also quite unobservant, having failed to notice four years ago that Obama is not White.

Congratulations, Olga! You are hereby the latest recipient of Pinkie's prestigious Beet of the Week Award!

Meanwhile, another method to put conservatives in their place is to tell them the debate is over, that whatever they're blathering about is not what this election is about, that the people are hurting too much from Republicans' failed policies of the past to take an interest in whatever petty little details the conservative is nitpicking about now, and then bring up the more pressing question of Romney's tax returns. Why hasn't he released more of them and what is he hiding? He simply HAS to be hiding something! WHAT???
