Words to Lift the Progressive Heart!

User avatar
Comrades! I read something today that I knew I just had to rush back home to share with you. If this doesn't touch your cold compassionate communist corpuscles flowing, then you seriously need to report to the KMRC for a refresher course. The following paragraph is exactily as produced in this book:

Stuart Chase reported after visiting the glorioust USSR in 1927 that unlike Ameruca, where "hungry stockholders" were making the economic decisions, in the Soviet Union the all caring state was in the saddle, "informed by batallions of statistics" and heroically aided by Communist Party officials who need "no further incentive than the burning zeal to create a new heaven and a new earth which flames in the breast of every good Communist."

However Comrades, I am also having my eyes opened even more, about a true giant of progressive thought and action that has clearly been covered up by the school teachers that I had when a young pup, and I thought just today's students were sadly lacking on history teachers. Actually, I knew some of his wonderful work, but I was not truely aware of his wonderful achievements as I am coming to know. All I will tell you for now is that this giant makes today's leftists, even the Empress and the Obamaessiah look like third rate cheap immitations! Yes, you heard me Empress, Obama! I am outraged to discover that all the glory that is being shown on you two, and the supposed progressive Soros and his minions at Daily Kos, are mere children that can only hope to one day stand in the shadows of what this man achieved, not just talked about.

Just a few quotes from the giant of progressive thinking... do not Google or cheat. Guess who this giant is that I refer to!

"A lot of nonsense has been talked about the inalienable rights of the individual, and a great deal that was mere vague sentiment and pleasing speculation has been put forward as a fundamental principle."

"...living political constitutions must be Darwinian in structure and in practice. Society is a living organism and must obey the laws of Life... it must develop."

"...all that progressives ask or desire is permission-in an era when 'development,' 'evolution,' is the scientific word-to interpret the Constitution according to the Darwinian principle."

"No one can mistake the purpose for which the nation now seeks to use the Democratic Party... I summon all honest men, all patriotic, all forward looking men, to my side. I will not fail them, if the will but counsel and sustain me!... "If you are not progressive...you better look out."

Oh comrades,,,*sniff* this is just too much for me. I have so much more enligtening and heartening quotes to share....

Lenin Bless the United Socialist States of America!

And you so called leftist liberals, the Hillary's, the OBama's, the Daily Kos' and other so called progressives....I implore you to ratch it up more! You all fail to even to wipe the poop of some of these giants that came before!

This made my spine tingle when I read it, so truthful, es la verdad!

User avatar
Gorbachev had some deeply intelligent quotes as well.

“I am a Communist, a convinced Communist! For some that may be a fantasy. But to me it is my main goal.”

Mikhail Gorbachev

User avatar
Yet another heart warming quote from my still unnamed Progressive hero:

"The competent leader of men cares little for the internal niceties of other people's characters: he cares much–everything–for the external uses to which they may be put…. He supplies the power; others supply only the materials upon which that power operates…. It is the power which dictates, dominates; the materials yield. Men are as clay in the hands of the consummate leader."

User avatar
And give the game up without a guess Brain in a Jar?

Here is yet another tidbit... one that shows how lame he makes our current batch of progressives seem....

"I cannot say too often—any man who carries a hyphen about with him carries a dagger that he is ready to plunge into the vitals of this Republic whenever he gets ready."

Then there is this breathtaking, embracing comment...

"I can not imagine power as a thing negative and not positive."

Why, that last line could have easily been spoken by the Chairman himself, yet was spoken long ago!

User avatar
OK, I cheated, and I'm slightly stunned. I saw hints of this individual's ego and infatuation with socialism in another, better known document, but this is near shocking. By the way, there were contemporary messianic references made to this person in both admiration and sarcastic exasperation (sorry if that gives it away, Pup). My students will be hearing more of this person's views next school year. Thanks for this very enlightening find.

User avatar
Kommissar Blogunov! It is quite an eyeopener is it not? To always have believed that other nations such as Russia, Italy, Germany were at the vanguard of socialist advancement, only to discover the truth!

User avatar
It certainly throws light on the better known document, a sort of check list with more than thirteen, but less than fifteen items on it in which this person just assumes the authority to redraw European geography and gushes here and there about the new Russian (not yet known to us as Soviet) government.

User avatar
Without peeking in any way, I surmise that there was a trasnational organization spearheaded by the individual in question that resembled one that the reactionaries fight today.

I also have a picture of this gentleman playing golf with Mark Twain on Bermuda. (Yes, Clemens was indeed a socialist along with his literary mentor William Dean Howells -- that is until an evil capitalist saved his bacon and he went over to the "dark side.")

That number (between 13 and 15) confirmed my earlier suspicions.

I can see one must get up pretty early in the morning to collect the Party's true share from these comrades turnip bins.

I can tell you comrades, study this man and the movement and the ideas upon which it was built. It is sad in the sense to realize how much the Party has lost over the intervening years, and how even our current stalwarts of progress fall woefully short of these heady days I refer to. You may also wish to investigate a term used by comrades on both sides of the pond and years, an idea known as "war socialism." It sure brings a new light on perhaps why with the exception of both recent illegal wars in Iraq, all the wars in our century were initiated by our progressive democrat allies. Then examine the concept of the "Third Way."

Let me share another quote from another famous person from these glorious days, a man that I was introduced to in history, but not to the true greatness of his intellect and progressive heart.

"It is very easy and in a sense perfectly true to declare
that democracy needs for its fulfillment a peculiarly high standard of
moral behavior; and it is even more true to declare that a democratic
scheme of moral values reaches its consummate expression in the religion
of human brotherhood. Such a religion can be realized only through the
loving-kindness which individuals feel toward their fellow-men and
particularly toward their fellow-countrymen; and it is through such
feelings that the network of mutual loyalties and responsibilities woven
in a democratic nation become radiant and expansive."

Woodrow Wilson.

Where's my cigar?
No thanks, put that away Monica.

User avatar
Well done, Comrade Buddy. You did well as I resorted to expedited research techniques (but it was all for the ChildrenTM, so that makes my actions commendable). The IIQ also played with black golf balls in winter weather so they'd be easier to spot in the snow. What's also interesting is that he came to power against divided opposition, similarly to the way we obtained a like minded individual nearly 16 years ago.
As a champion of the people, the IIQ once referred to privately owned automobiles as "the arrogancy of wealth" while acting as guardian of the people's Pierce Arrow. The attributes of a true people's leader were always there, but I didn't know until today just how deeply imbued he was with these traits.
It was a good era for progressives, too. Shortly after this IIQ was replaced by one he termed as "disturbingly dull," some states began to mandate publik skool education only for all children. Ah, the good old days! Marxism, Darwinism, US socialism, so close, so close. Well, it's all scientifically inevitable, so it'll come, Lenin willing.

User avatar
Well, looks like the cat got out of the people's bag while I was writing my last post. WW it is.

User avatar
Yes! And this goes back to the discussion that Red Square has mentioned earler, for not only was this socialism in a way never before seen in the US, it was also fascism before the name was even coined. Ah such glorious days! People arrested for what they said in the privacy of their homes! The establishment of a real propoganda ministry, bringing order to society in ways previously unthinkable through the expediency of war. Why, even Mussolini was impressed with our progressiveness, and that is what they called themselves, Progressives! The Party has much to learn from our forefathers!

User avatar
I believe this period was also when the whole concept of progressivism as a secular religion began, (as the environmental movement is today's secular religion).

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the concept that the State is the perfecter of man took hold. We know, of course, that loyalty to any power but the State is anathema, and that belief in any other higher power smacks dangerously of individualism. Therefore, though a "scientific" approach to human behavior was necessary, it needed its angels and demons to satisfy people's spiritual side. All were ready-made, thanks to the likes of Huxley, Sanger, Wells, et al. As the angels who smote the greedy capitalists and made the case for perfecting the human race through eugenics, The Party would be purified, and Lenin bless him, Thomas Dewey expedited it all through the public school system where these concepts remains in full force today.

These were also the days of the Frankfurt School, Gramsci, the Fabian society and all the other Third Way schemes that now serve the Party so well.

Real socialism here? Now? I believe Next Tuesday is really Tues. Nov. 4, 2008, when we can say it arrived unsullied, and here to stay for a long time.

User avatar
Who wishes to earn the next secret award by explaining the notion of "war socialism" and how it impacts the Party today?
Hint - It has nothing to do with the Iraq war.

User avatar
To say that I am sorely disappointed that no comrade has taken up the challenge of my previous post would be an understatement. So for those even less equal, let me offer a less stressful challenge.

What young socialist in 1919 who would eventually be a "HINT* "Leader" said;: "Wilson's empire has no borders because He doesn't govern territories. Rather He interprets the needs, the hopes, the faith of the human spirit, which has no spatial or temporal limits."

User avatar
Come on, Pupovich, quit making stuff up. If it's not in Google, it doesn't exist.

User avatar
What is this? A mere Commissar that has miffed the Cube on the war socialism question, or is it the progressive quotes that have you miffed? But as a test, I did indeed find the last quote of mine using Google....though I strongly discourage the use of such capitalist methods.

User avatar
I cheated.

I'll talk while I dig...

Comrade Pup, without giving much away, I am stunned at how the entire concept of war socialism has permeated the party for so long -- and how effective it is today.

Nearly each and every Progressive president has used it to maximum advantage. The whole list of what war socialism is is currently involved in our 21st century politics, from oil prices to the Fed, and beyond.

In the past it affected Britain, Germany (Lenin knows!), and of course the USA. Why, war socialism gave us the glorious art of Thomas Hart Benton, who showed us what a true Progressive mural can be.

At first, I thought it was Eleanor Roosevelt who pioneered its use it in her work with the UN, and other Socialist programs she was so in favor of her entire life.

Dear Stalin, I hadn't scratched the surface with that thought...

Most illuminating, Comrade, and a lesson that has been well-learned and well-used for many years by our Party leaders.

User avatar
Hitler seemed too obvious, so I cheated. It was Mussolini who said it. Note to self: If I ever get on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" do not make Red Square my "Dial-A-Friend."

Now come on, Pup, school's out and we're supposed to be on summer vacation. We should be making crank calls and loitering in front of small businesses, driving all their customers away.

Commrade Buddy Lenin.... You have scratched the surface I believe in your studies. But now for a more full explanation on the usefulness of "war socialism."

Yes, previous leaders have used war, or the threat of war, to unite, to "militarize" (not necessarily as in armed forces), to impose socialist methods and goals. In fact, many of the early giants saw war as a good thing to advance the socialist or fascist cause. But where it comes down to our purposes today is that we still use "war socialism," even in times of relative peace and prosperity. For now you will see the true meaning beind the slogan that something is "the moral equivalent of war." The "battle" against poverty, poor nutrition, global weather change, racism, sexism, anti-toasterism etc can all be "the moral equivalent of war" and thus whatever measures must be taken to fight these battles are a legitimate cause for an enlightened government to impose whatever privations or controls needed to fight this war. Thus we can legitimately call those who oppose global warming as heretics and deny them positions in our schools and government for instance. It is war!

Yes Commissarka, it was Mussolini. Forgive me for forgetting that not all comrades can be there manning the barricades, fighting the good fight against Bush, Haliburton, capitalist imperialism in the way that I have dedicated myself.

User avatar
Precisely. As I undserstand it, the exigencies of war -- any type of war -- call for a "suspension" of essential liberties. In the 21st century, such restrictions spiral out in a wider circle of influence such that they become global in scope, eg:

Global Warming (now Climate change, of course)
Global Economy, so that the third world has an equality of outcome, and so that nationalism as is practiced by nation-states can be diluted with a war on poverty shoring up the third world.
The Global Commons: The need to abandon industrialism for the sake of the planet, and to ensure stasis with respect to movement of the proletariat (for the Greater Good, of course).
Global Unity; the concept that we are citizens of the planet united against a supernatural or near-supernatural foe. (The religious aspect I mentioned above)

So, we become united against the common enemy the Superstate dictates we must fight, and war socialism unites us under the banner of victory against non-approved entities and circumstances.

War socialism gets the proletariat to go along!

That's because only the time of crisis validates the "liberal" morality of altruism. At the times of peace and prosperity their altruism is not only pathetic but also harmful and breeds nothing but corruption, anxiety, and depression. That's why all the "liberals," especially the ones who like to claim high moral ground, have an instinctive longing for the times of turmoil, crisis, suffering, and despair.

When an event (flood, hurricane, foreclosures, regime change n Iraq, police brutality) shows even the slightest potentiality of a crisis, the "liberals" swarm over it, declaring it the worst disaster in history. What's in it for them? IT FINALLY ALLOWS THEM TO FEEL SUPERIOR! Their morality is validated!

It's a morality that requires large amounts of people to suffer in order for a small number of the elites to feel superior. Now tell me that it's not a morality of cannibalism.

Back in Russia, in mid-eighties, I once met a young simple and good-natured prole who believed everything he saw on TV (and a lot of that naturally was the Party propaganda). He had the longing for the "pure," "honest," and "straightforward" relationships among people, the kind that existed during the war (WWII). So far so good. He said he was disgusted with everybody's selfishness and the pursuit of individual happiness. His solution? We needed another war! A big crisis that would teach people to sacrifice everything for each other.

In other words, he wanted to achieve a cleansing of his own soul through the death and suffering of others. What kind of morality is that if not that of the most brutal cannibalistic savages? I asked him if it would not be selfish to desire a massive destruction for personal gratification. He said he didn't think that way. It was not about thinking, it was about feeling.

That's what war socialism is about. The triumph of morality of altruism and collectivism over reason and individuality.

What a quaint notion this so called freedom and individualism. As Comrade Rousseau proved long ago, within the State, there are only citizens, and "others" or enemies of the state. Citizens of the State are in consensus in regard to what is good and beneficial and is permitted or encouraged, and that which is not good and prohibited and must be vanquished. Only those that either through their own volition or through adhering to existing laws, social norms, and aims of the State, in action if not in belief, can know what it is to be free. Only these can be citizens and therefore be free and bask in the protections and benefits provided by the state. All others are "outside," and of these outsiders, there can be but two types - those that do not fight or otherwise get in the way of the State's interests, and the other Enemies of the State. Neither of which can or should enjoy the protection or sanction of the state, and the latter of course must be eliminated where ever found at the least cost to the state. As a popular novelest once put this, Freedom is slavery.

Ah, the force of the Ism is strong within this Commissar, do you not agree Comrade Cube?

User avatar
Eh what?

Did someone say Freedom is Slavery?

O'Brien

WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

User avatar
Yes Comrade O'Brien, and i have complete confidence in you knowing the joy of that revelation.

Now. who can answer this.... What is the Great Truth that underlies guilt? Yes. we all know progressive people relish guilt. Clearly it makes us feel better because it shows how much more we care than others.. But there is yet a fundamental premise that underlies this. Which of my comrades care to take this on?

User avatar
In what context Commissar? For there are many ways I can go with this.

In relation to the guilt that successful people should feel because they are successful and others are sitting on the porch drinking 40s and not making anything of themselves, theres laziness or sloth. Instead of seeing and problem and solving it, they see a problem and lament to the masses that the government needs to do something about it. For example, Bono running around Africa crying that America needs to forgive their debt. Instead of taking it upon himself to pay their debt off to America, which he could do with great ease. Deception...."Someone needs to take care of this problem! Don't bother me with it though...."

Just a few examples.

O'Brien

WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

User avatar
You hit so close but didn't quite follow up....

The key is this: One will not feel guilty over something they can not do any thing about. Most sane people do not feel guilt over the sun rising in the morning. A capitalist Christian might say that their Bible said "the poor will be with you always" and conclude that there will always be some poor indigents in this world which we can help, but never eliminate completely. People will say "nobody's perfect" and thus excuse themselves from guilt. However, we progressives know that through proper socialist methods, under the guidance of the best science and minds available, there is no problem that we can not fix if only we work a little harder, if only we regulate this or that a little more, if only we can overcome republican vote fixing....

Thus when we feel guilty, not only do we feel superior in our caring than others, but re-affirming our conviction that we can make the world perfect through our efforts if only we work harder etc. I for one feel guilty for not espousing on this earlier and so delaying the perfection of the World of Next Tuesday.

Shameless plea for Pupovich for Candidate Member of Inner Circle for advancements in socialist doctrines.

I vote for Pupovich for Candidate Member of Inner Circle for advancements in socialist doctrines.

Now,what do I get for my vote,Comrade? Something good?

Thanks so much for your vote, but lets wait and see if I get any nominations before we talk about remittances.... in the form of socialist wisdom of course.
