A Quick Tour of American History

User avatar
1789 - Constitution ratified, George Washington becomes president, limited government

1861-1865 - Civil War, Reconstruction, end of states' rights

Late 1800s-Early 1900s - Progressive movement, heavily propagandized resentment of the financially successful which continues to the present time, layers of republican government stripped away, income tax

1932-1945 - Franklin Roosevelt, "New Bill of Rights" to replace the outdated ones limiting government, guarantees of state provided housing, education, employment, and healthcare, beginning of the bureaucratic dependency state

1962-1969 - Johnson Era, War on Poverty, solidification of the dependency state

1981-1989 - Reagan Era, brief respite from socialism, economic prosperity ensues

1993-2001 - Clinton Era, too busy with interns to be relevant

2009-? - Obama Era, Ascendancy of the Dependency State, tipping point?

I'm looking forward to your insights, comrades...

I think we have reached the tipping point. Maybe the point of no return.
It seems there are now more people living off the govt. teat than feeding
the govt. pig. This cannot go on forever.

Lincoln was a Republican.

Should read

1861-1865 -Birth of the Republican Party:Outlawing States' Right To Secede, Civil War,Reconstruction, Fundamental Transformation of America into a Dictatorship.

The Republican party has got to come to terms with its very sordid, lying, conniving roots. Sure they wanted abolition - but only so they could equally enslave everybody.

I think you've got to lay much of the responsibility for the current mess at their feet.

Image We have a whole new group of young prols entering the electorate who have no historical frame of reference to the failures of socialism. They have been indoctrinated into believing in the failures of capitalism and as Marxism as a solution to what ails us by the universities, teachers, and the media. With this belief that the state is the provider of all thing including the prized and coveted Obamaphone, we have entered a dangerous new era. It is no surprise that Dear Leader Comrade President fared so well given the state of the economy. Face it, a repeat of the 1980 elections that should have occurred, did not, because of the leftward march of the electorate.

Kennedy's "Ask not what your country can do for you" statement has been supplanted and turned upside down within the last 50 years, and it is my contention that this political cycle will need to complete itself before true change can occur. This means that the young prols must see and experience the collapse that occurs once the tipping point has past.

As for the tipping point, we have no means to sustain a socialist economy the way that Cuba relies on tobacco or Venezuela its oil, so falling is inevitable. We are already broke and so far in debt that it will be a relatively fast trip to the bottom unless we get bailed out by China. We are not far from this and we may have our Greek moment within the next four years.

Remember that throughout history borders change, civilizations collapse, and governments fall and the globe of tomorrow will look vastly different than what we have today.

Commrade Blogunov,

I am a humble servant of the people who must subimt the fact that in 1913 the federal reserve aquired the rights to print all capitalistic paper money then sell it at full-face value with interest to the government of the united states to show them the errors of their system and it has taken the entire 100 year charter for it's mission to be completed.

There is still much work to be done and the vote for the re-newed charter come up in another two months!

But with commrade Obama in charge and ready to vote present, the last of the capitalistic pigs will be swept aside in a glorious orgie of equal poverty for all, except the ruling class of coarse!

So please amend your list commrade to include this most important blow to the democratic deamons!

s
Fed is already ordering new plates from Bureau of Printing and Engraving.
"In God We Trust" will no longer appear on U.S. Currency. This outdated motto will be replaced with the words of supplicant dependent class; "I Want My Mommy!"

Comrades, do not forget 1942 when the Amerikkans took the initiative in prototyping the Gringo Gulags of Tomorrow, this glorious feat tested by the internment of the Asians making excessive gains and earning enough money without paying their fair shares...

When this far "FORWARD!" we must look BACK...

Nope. That was when the dumbed-down and ignorant useful idiots bought what the mainstream media showed them about a guy who speaks remarkably well with teleprompters and who would surely end all the strife and disharmony, including the racial divisions (which had, for the most part, pretty much disappeared already).

November 6, 2012, was when America died, when the people - after four years of excruciatingly clear and abundant evidence that the emperor not only had no clothes but was a communist, a traitor, a liar, a racist, and a useful idiot himself - voted for him yet again, putting the final, non-removable nails into the coffin that now holds what was once the United States of America.

All that remains is to watch the decay, as the worms work their way in and totally destroy what's left.

A round of beet vodka - the good Party stuff! - all around the house, on my ration card!

Our history is strewn with 'tipping points' none of which killed us but each a milestone in a
metastasizing political cancer.

In the Blagunov 'quick tour' even the Constitution of 1789 might be thought of itself as a 'Thermodorian Reaction' to the Articles of Confederation. The dead end of the Kentucky & Virginia Resolutions advocated by Jefferson & Madison in defense of the 1st Amendment could be thought yet another. Just examples of the age of the trail of tipping points.

Was the American Experiment an accidental coincidence of a sparsely populated under developed resource rich New World and the zenith of the Age of Enlightenment bursting at the seams with ambitious ex serfs? Does urbanization invariably make the collective ascendant over the sovereignty of the individual? That's for history to decide. There is the example of Rome having had a rough time of things for the first few centuries before coming into its own so to speak.

But as for me the founding of America was an expression of Man's potential. If the City on the Hill is no more it is only here I think that its ruins can be found. It is here that the best chance of a political Renaissance can be inspired by those ruins - as were the Italian artist of old through the remnants of the Greco-Romans.

It is here perhaps Atlas Will Shrug.

Prog Off

Expel the Blue States
Secede

Prog On

Thank you, comrades, for the thought provoking insights (you'll never see conversations like these on YouTube).
CDC, I believe you're quite right about Lincoln. My opening blurb was intentionally brief, but to expand, I wonder at conservative luminaries, with whom I often agree, about their adoration of Lincoln. It was Lincoln who provoked a war over the issue of Fort Sumter, illegally raised an army, illegally declared war against his own country, and became deified for drafting one of the most disingenuous documents in history (read the fine print in the "Emancipation" Proclamation). And all that from a former congressman who once argued for secession.
Expel, I'm delighted to see someone else has heard of the Virginia and Kentucky Resolutions. My political and historical reindoctrination subjects (students) just went through those in US History. They are political dynamite! No less than the author of the Declaration and the author of much of the Constitution argue for nullification as a remedy to federal laws when the federal government oversteps its bounds. They were written to address directly the assaults on the First Amendment, but extend as a means to enforce the Tenth Amendment which although there, has become a doormat.
Well done, comrades. Keep up the good work.
