Chicago. Where to begin? I was born in Chicago, I spent much of my childhood living in Chicago and am still a die hard fan of the Bears and yet there is not enough money in the world to make me move back.

Check out HERE for the most recent violence among the Chicago youth. It is literally out of control but thank god Obama is running away to Denmark to avoid escalating violence in Afghanistan, Iraq and Chicago.

Wait a second, Obama is from Chicago. Didn't his “Hope” and “Change” fix these problems? Didn't ACORN organize the community to stop this violence? Oh wait, I have them confused with people who actually give a fig.

The only reasoning for giving Chicago the Olympics in 2016 is if youth violence becomes an event. If so then Chicago has the rest of the world licked.

I said many times during the 2008 election, just look at Chicago as a good measuring stick against Obama's ability to govern. Chicago is out of control. Maybe if our President spent more time governing instead of going on Letterman and flying to Denmark we could fix some real problems.

If Obama would just summon up the courage to take on the gun lobby, such tragedies could be eliminated.

Well, ok...the gun lobby and the readily available wooden stick lobby. And maybe the the knife lobby while he's at it. I mean, why does any chef needs so many knives???

In addition to the events you mentioned I also think an event where the person who can pull out the race card the fastest gets the Gold.

When the poll numbers are plummeting, there's only one thing to do: Run back to Europe where everyone still adores him. According to this evening's newscast (Charlie Gibson, ABC, whom I swore months ago I'd stop watching but alas), he's taking a 9 hour flight to Copenhagen where he'll spend 45 minutes making his case for Chicago, then turn around and come home. Nothing about the carbon footprint this is going to leave. But surely he must find time for a photo-op with Queen Margrethe? He could give her an Amazon Kindle with all of Hans Christian Andersen's fairytales loaded onto it. Oh, and his own books.

Expect his speech to the IOC to include some reference to when he was a little boy growing up in Indonesia, where the Olympics never came and how he had dreams about things and his mother told him it was no picnic for her, either.

It all boils down to this: He just wants to be able to open the Olympic Games. One of the cool things about being a head of state is when your country hosts the Olympics, you get to officially open the Games. It's a great opportunity to be on TV worldwide and stand in the middle of a big packed stadium amid popping camera flashes and cheering masses.

He'd light the torch if they let him.

If the IOC doesn't give the Olympics to Chicago, it can only mean one thing: They're RACIST!

P.S. It'd sure be funny if Chicago did get it, only for Obama to lose the 2012 election and someone like Sarah Palin gets the glory of opening the Games.

Pinkie, I believe Rush is right, Chicago already got the contract. Obama just ran over there to make it look like it was his intervention that did the trick. Let's face it, the IOC, like the Nobel Prize Committee are all Socialists. There was never any doubt Obama would be bringing home the bacon.

On a racist note, since we're all racists now, I think dem boys in Chi-town are shoe in's for the javelin competition. Too bad rapin' and robbin' aren't Olympic events.

I think the event will finalize the progressive agenda if they give the same medals to every competitor, win or lose, just like they do in school now.

Whoopie, I tend to agree with you and Rush. Obama said on one of the talk shows recently that he pays no attention to polls. Maybe not the one about health care, but as for his approval ratings, like hell he doesn't. A narcissist like him? His numbers are dropping and he probably figures this is a quick and easy (though by no means cheap) way to give himself a much-needed albeit artificial boost.

Last night we watched The Departed, and there was a scene where Martin Sheen said something to Leonardo DiCaprio that made me think of Obama. "Do you want to be a cop or do you just want to appear to be a cop?" Many think it's cool to carry a badge and a gun, and those are the ones who just want to appear to be one.

Obama may think he wants to be President, but the sad ugly truth is he really just wants to appear to be one--live in the White House, fly on Air Force One, photo ops with kings and queens, while his czars and staffers do all the real work, such as it is, of destroying this country under the guise of "transforming" it. He does nothing but make blathering speeches and do talk shows and jet around the world while his wife shops and doesn't even buy American.
