Media Bias Is Real, Finds UCLA Political Scientist
December 14, 2005
Quote:While the editorial page of The Wall Street Journal is conservative, the newspaper's news pages are liberal, even more liberal than The New York Times. The Drudge Report may have a right-wing reputation, but it leans left. Coverage by public television and radio is conservative compared to the rest of the mainstream media. Meanwhile, almost all major media outlets tilt to the left.
These are just a few of the surprising findings from a UCLA-led study, which is believed to be the first successful attempt at objectively quantifying bias in a range of media outlets and ranking them accordingly.
"I suspected that many media outlets would tilt to the left because surveys have shown that reporters tend to vote more Democrat than Republican," said Tim Groseclose, a UCLA political scientist and the study's lead author. "But I was surprised at just how pronounced the distinctions are."
The rest of the story is for trained professional propagandists' eyes only. Even the most ideologically reliable Party members should not be allowed to see this lest their zeal in debating the enemy may be diminished.
I will be meeting with the Kommissar of Propaganda later this afternoon. I will make sure that this issue is addressed. Any last words you would like to hear from him?

I want to hear how he likes the guillotine that I polished this morning in preparation for his... um... "disappearance".
Actually, he said "AHHHHHHHHH!"

I urge you to purge these reactionary calls to violence!
The Kommisar of Propaganda is no doubt mindful of the great approach of
our beloved Chinese leader:
"Let a hundred flowers bloom... let a thousand thousand schools of thought contend." -Mao
That way, we find out who the fascist opponants of the Peoples' Dictatorship are,
and crush the filthy capitalist running dogs, bringing our great universities back into complete submission to the party line.
I applaud this ploy of the leadership to expose those who read the "Wall Street Journal" or any of the other pornographic oppressors of the truth!
