Progress And the Economy

User avatar
I came across this very clever bit of artistic propaganda by a guy named Michael Ramirez.

With a name like that, you KNOW he's revolutionary, like Fidel, Daniel, Che, and Hugo!

He clearly outlines the Baby Boomers' (the generation that brought us our most memorable '60s memories, the New Left, the Clinton Administration) role in clearing the economic slate and making room for the American Ruble!

My ears are already ringing from your applause at this man's artistic genius and incredible economic insight. Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!

In other news: It seems that our sexually-confounded agent of progress, Buggery Barney Fag Fop Frank, has been doing a bang-up job on the economy as well by bed-buddying a head fellow of Fannie M, while passing legislation that helped lead up to the brilliant Sub-Prime bomb that dropped on our economy late last year. This may be old news, but I bring it to your attention to show how tight our propaganda organ takes care of its own. Kudos to the lapdog of the New Order!

But, you know, the enemy, always interested in salvaging his flagging bits of green paper, will do something to try to counteract our War on Dollartm. In my former home state of North Carolina, lovers of loud noisemakers that slay our children, perforate harmless animals and violate our criminals' right to life and your property could buy their boomsticks tax-free.

Outrage!

And to add insult to injury, the vendor of death-dealing hardware mocks the clarion tagline that ushered His O'liness into victory in justification for his defiant approach to capitalism: "There are a lot of ancillary issues around guns, ammunition,high-capacity magazines, assault rifles, those fringe or peripheralissues are probably the place where we could see change.”

That alone is thoughtcrime of the highest order. Where is the Marshal? Unleash the Dogs of the Revolution!

As a tail end baby-boomer, I apologize to the rest of you lot for what you are about to receive in the form of pay check looting and IRA grabbing supposedly on my behalf. I long ago wrote off my Social Security withholding as simple tribute to the federal government; I will be extremely suprised if I see a dime of what I have had carved out of my income over the years. That will not stop the jackinapes in Congress from trying to prop up a moribund system. Did I say prop up? I'm sorry, I meant to say "expand against all sense of reason, sanity and the laws of physics."

As an aside, I'm not sure I actually am a Baby Boomer despite technically being born at the end of the era. I am the youngest of four, separated from the other siblings by six years, and I was quite a suprise to my parents in 1962. The older sibs were planned, coming into the world at 18-month intervals. Looking back on it I can be fairly sure I was the result of some form of celebration; Mom and Dad built a house over the winter of 1961-2 and moved in roughly nine months before I did. Even more to the point, I was born nine months to the day after John Glenn became the first American to orbit the Earth. The way I figure it, I was either a celebration of moving into the new house, or Dad was feeling particularly patriotic and decided to have his own rocket launch to honor America's acheivement.

Hmmmm...some more capitalist rationalization...in the form of John Stossel. Hold your stomach if you can, comrades!

Even smart people like Paul Volcker say, "This crisis is different."Politicians say things like this because they're too close to theproblem. They've panicked. I saw this again and again doing consumerreporting: People closest to problems often panic beyond reason. After9/11, people overreacted because of fear of terrorism. We federalizedairport security and spent tax money on nonsense like bulletproof vestsfor dogs.

I wonder if we can get one of these things for Marshal Poochovich.

In 1999, it was the Y2K computer technicians themselves whowere most convinced that computers would freeze and planes crash. Itwas the bird flu specialists who were convinced that millions would diefrom the bird flu. Today, it's the scientists creating global warmingcomputer models who are most insistent that we take economicallydestructive steps to stop climate change.

Fortunately, the bird flu doctors and global warming fanatics didn'thold the reins of government. Unfortunately, today's most frightenedpeople do. Hank Paulson is surrounded by panic; I assume many of hisWall Street banker buddies called to shout: "It's a catastrophe! I'velost everything!" In the echo-chamber of Washington and Manhattan, onestarts to believe that this deleveraging is different. This onerequires more government. But it doesn't. More government will justdelay recovery.

Vice President Biden informed ABC News that "Everyone .  .  . saysthe scope of this package has to be bold. It has to be big." Everyone?Hardly. More than 100 prominent economists signed a petition againstthe stimulus package, and more than 200 signed a petition against thefinancial bailout.

No wonder the last assasination attempt failed I believe he already has one with that wonderfully, thick, luxerious coat he wears. Oh, and his fur is pretty nice too.

I just finished reading some information about our government's new stimulus package, and found this through a link on Glenn Beck online. Thought you would find it useful, as we are all trying to understand just what the hell Obama and Co. are doing to the US economy. Unbelievable, the line "A stack of $1,000 bills would reach just over 63 miles high" nearly knocked me out of my chair!

And in related news: Tim Geithner picked Mark Patterson, a former lobbyist for Goldman Sachs, to be his chief of staff at the Treasury Department. Didn't I hear somewhere that lobbyists would not work in Obama's Administration??

And check this out on Newsmax, regarding ACORN getting $5.2 billion!<br>http://www.newsmax.com/headlines/obama_ ... 75729.html

And on Eric Holder for Attorney General.......here's what I say

Che!

Below is a little more on Geithner's pedigree. Most of the information about him has been centered on his reluctanceoversight on paying his taxes that they forget that he has been in a big player in this financial mess all along. Wasn't this new president suposed to be about change all along??

One definition of a Fool is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome each time.

For more great Obama Administration selections look at the Blogg below titled Obama Dichotomies.

Obama has placed Timothy Geithner in charge of Treasury. Geithner is the guy who handed out the $350 billion to Big Banking without oversight.

He was also one of the ones charged with oversight of the regulations on Big Banking when the housing crisis, oil speculation, and derivatives markets set up this immense market crash in the first place.

Now they are pressing for the other $350 billion and then another $700 billion, mostly in tax-breaks and tax-refunds for Big Business and banking. Plus, let's not forget the $2 trillion dollars that the Federal Reserve handed out to banks and to this day, refuse to tell congress who they gave the money to.

Now, they want to set up a “nationalized bank”, but all it will do is buy bad debt, and the tax-payers expense, worthless paper at unheard-of prices that initially justify the business's request for a refund of all taxes paid in the last 5 years and then, after they get that money from the tax-payer, Team Obama's plan is to buy that bad paper, with tax-payer money, and turn that loss into a profit. Thus they are not only saving very institutions that caused this mess in the first place, but in fact, they are paying them immense profits for having done what they did to create it in the first place.

BOHICA for the taxpayer, does it at least come with some party-approved lube? I have a bad feeling that Barney Frank will be right there when it is happening too!

User avatar
It's probably the ONLY sort of "deposit" you'd get from the Dems, barring "most favored special interest group" status. Then you get money out the wazoo.

The BOHICA wouldn't be nearly so bad if congress wasn't so hopped up on the following......
