David Horowitz's NewsrealAllah most merciful, for whose forgiveness there is not a sin too large.
The above words are those of Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf.
The Imam—and an unidentified Muslim group, which he represents—has paid $4.85 million dollars in cash to purchase the site of the old Burlington Coat Factory, located right around the corner from Ground Zero. An historic five-story building at 45 Park Place, it was damaged by wreckage from the landing gear of one of the passenger planes hijacked by jihadist Muslims, who cried “Allahu Akhbar” as they flew those planes into the nearby towers of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
The Imam now plans to turn the site into a complete Islamic cultural center, which will cost upwards of $150 million and will include the mosque, a museum, gift-shops, and room for seminars to “reconcile” religions, to counteract the backlash against Muslims in general and “to extend a hand,” according to the Imam’s wife Daisy Khan, who told the German newspaper Spiegal that:
Only in New York City is this possible.
Where else could one build an Islamic cultural center and mosque so close to, and so soon after the largest terrorist attack in American history, in order to accommodate those wishing to pray to Allah for “reconciliation” for the murder of nearly 3000 innocent people—all slaughtered in the name of Allah?
As Ms. Khan sees it:
It was almost obvious that something like this had to arise from the ashes of 9/11. In some way, this has the hand of the divine written over it. It’s almost as if God wanted to be involved.
And who is Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, and where did he get all of this money?
An Egyptian national, he was profiled in a recent puff piece in the New York Times, who described him as a “moderate voice” of Islam. “He subscribes to my credo,” the Times quoted Rabbi Arthur Schneier, the leader of the Park East Synagogue, to “Live and let live.”
That same Imam Feisal, however, also suggested in 2004 that it was important for the West to understand the terrorists’ point of view, and that it was Christians who started the practice of mass attacks on civilians in the first place:
The Islamic method of waging war is not to kill innocent civilians. But it was Christians in World War II who bombed civilians in Dresden and Hiroshima, neither of which were military targets.
And what about the money—where will it all come from?
Perhaps Saudi Arabia, which already funds many US mosques (and was also the country of origin of 15 of the 19 hijackers) in order to spread its strict Wahabi interpretation of Islam? Maybe Iran?

Yes comrades, he makes perfect sense. The United States bombing of military targets* in countries it was at war with (and who attacked it first) morally justifies
And remember, it is us, the enlightened progressives led by
*FYI the US military has stated there were justifiable military targets in both Dresden and Hiroshima. On top of that, Feisel's statment is a non-sequitur; if the Islamic method of war is not to kill civilians, how does its adherents claim justification to do so based on a war between demonstrably non-Islamic countries in which Islam is not involved? And how do actions taken by countries during wartime justify attacks committed by religious zealots during peacetime?
To be progressive all the way, we should demand that the construction of the minaret be funded by US taxpayers as part of NYC-designated stimulus package.
Red SquareIs there even a connection between the Religion of Peace(TM) and Ground Zero? The korrekt Party-approved current truth is that Muslims had nothing to do with WTC - it was destroyed by Bush with controlled demolition in order to become a dictator for life.
Gosh, now that you mention this fact comrade, I have to ask why is Chairman Obama.... er, Comrade Holder (it's all his idea, you know) putting this KSM guy on trial? Is he a relative of Dick Cheney's or something? Or do I have it all wrong and KSM is suing Dick Cheney for shotgun wounds?
Turboski, your idea about the minarets is an excellent one. I'm sure all the progressive womyn of NYC would not mind wearing the traditional prescribed dress while within the confines of the "new" WTC (out of deference to our guests' customs, of course.) And, all those hot dog vendors that hang out there will be verbotten. Pork, you know; it's only good for politicians.
(Referring to Obama's nostalgic recollection of his boyhood in Indonesia)
Colonel, you have made an excellent point; perhaps from now on all important buildings (such as the White House and Capitol Building) should make it a point to contain a mosque somewhere on the premises as way to protect the structure against the wrath of Allah. Any comparison with the "protection rackets" run by organized criminals is simply a false analogy.
