Theo dear, watch the Democrats make him the Vice Presidential running mate. Worked before. Because they see him as an intellectual. Ha! Margaret, you have shivered my timbers by suggesting that Algore is an intellectual. As we know, his grades at Yale were worse than W's. I've watched him and his leaden, humorless delivery, his sense of entitlement, make me think that he is an idiot but it is a failing of mine to call people I don't like stupid or wicked instead of choosing the right word.

But I do have hope. His arrogant sense of entitlement, his preachments, his hypocrisy: none of them would be too much to put off people who also feel entitled, but fortunately the hard left is not a huge percentage of the electorate.

I read an article in <i>The Spectator</i> which explained better than anything else one of the problem with the middle-class and upper-middle-class liberalism. The idea is that a lot of the middle class is postmaterialist, having enough money and therefore wanting to flash its liberal values, hence my avatar as the Commissar of Conspicuous Compassion. My take is that a goodly number of well-off people do have enough money but do not have enough time and are using the Democratic party as a personal shopper for their virtue to save them having to do personal acts of kindness. And Nancy et al are happy to oblige.

Gore is a natural to these people, unless he's simply not cool enough. They eat their own.

Just not fast enough.
