45 Years: Happy Birthday Earth Day

On this forty-fifth birthday of the first annual Earthday, which was first commemorated on the one-hundredth birthday of Vladimir Lenin in 1970, let us revisit some of the predictions made on that glorious day.

Remember comrades, it doesn't matter whether the prophecies came true, but whether they affected change that leads to the equality to be found in the Glorious Utopian World of Next Tuesday...

* * *

  • "It is already too late to avoid mass starvation," proclaimed Denis Hayes, Chief organizer for Earth Day.
  • "Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions…. By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine," said professor Peter Gunter.
  • "We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human habitation," said Barry Commoner, a Washington University biologist.
  • "In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution… by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half," according to Life magazine.
  • "At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it's only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable," according to ecologist and UC Davis professor Kenneth Watt.
  • "Air pollution…is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone," lamented Paul Ehrlich, author and Stanford University biology professor.
  • "By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate… that there won't be any more crude oil. You'll drive up to the pump and say, 'Fill 'er up, buddy,' and he'll say, 'I am very sorry, there isn't any,'" warned Kenneth Watt.
  • "One theory assumes that the earth's cloud cover will continue to thicken as more dust, fumes, and water vapor are belched into the atmosphere by industrial smokestacks and jet planes. Screened from the sun's heat, the planet will cool, the water vapor will fall and freeze, and a new Ice Age will be born," warned Newsweek magazine.
  • "The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age," warned professor Kenneth Watt.
  • "Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years," - Stanford University biologist Paul Ehrlich.
  • "Most of the people who are going to die in the greatest cataclysm in the history of man have already been born… [By 1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s." - Stanford University biologist Paul Ehrlich.

These predictions may seem laughable in hindsight, but they have been used to give credence to our agenda. Let us applaud these brave scientists who have sacrificed their credibility in pursuit of world socialism. They sounded the false alarm to give cover to our communist politicians working under the guise of the Democrat Party.

These untruths have been so universally powerful and persuasive, that even the so-called 'opposition' party has been forced to accept them as fact. Earth Day has been a powerful tool of deception toward attaining the Utopian State of Equality that we have struggled to achieve for the past century, just as our dear Comrade Vladimir Lenin did until his death in 1924.

Let us remember him and his sacrifice for us as we celebrate his birthday on Earthday.

I, for one, think we should honor one of the creators of Earth Day and make a large compost heap in our backyards.

Don't forget, comrades, to make it large, but at the same time inconspicuous. Don't want to draw any unnecessary attention to it.

If you are unable to do this outside, I have heard stories about people using storage containers (e.g. trunks), to do a proper compost heap.

Happy composting!

Great research, Komrade Punk! This has now been promoted to the Mother Page!

In other news from years past, let's not forget...

Obama: Shovel-Ready on Lenin's Birthday / Earth Day

Image
From the People's Glossary:

Shovel
A symbol of suffering and sacrifice for The Greater Good™. Used in hard labor therapy or in self-criticism sessions to redeem potential thought crimes.

Every citizen must keep his or her shovel in good repair at all times and bring it to the railroad station if called to duty by the Commissar.

The shovel is an important part of Earth Day festival, or Sacrificial Earth Shoveling Day, celebrating the death and rebirth of Great Lenin.

Americans must be more shovel-ready and dig faster!

Earth Day

A day of action to save the earth from farmers, ranchers, mining, timber, oil, chemical companies, and anyone else who seeks to utilize the earth's resources to enhance, enrich, and extend the lives of Americans and others worldwide. Characterized by the media's massive awareness drive to...

a) remind the world that American capitalists are raping the earth and stealing its riches, thus causing all of the planet's environmental problems;

b) advocate a greater government control of land, resources, and industries; and

c) increase the constantly growing white male guilt levels. A great way to politicize spring cleaning and give an ideological rationalization for the rebirth of nature.

LeninIn Marxist pantheon, the deity of earth, toil, and light bulbs, the giver of beets, vodka, and happiness. A principal deity of the Soviet People who worshiped his mummy while believing he was still alive. Lenin's birthday is an important Marxist festival, also known as Sacrificial Earth Shoveling, or simply Earth Day.

April 22 is known in Russia as Lenin's birthday and is traditionally celebrated by uncompensated shoveling of earth. The event is called the Communist Subbotnik, or the Sacrificial Earth Shoveling Day.

On a Saturday around that day all workers, peasants, and toiling intelligentsia are supposed to donate to the Worker's State a day of free labor - either at workplace or on communal property - cleaning streets, digging earth in public parks and lawns, etc.

It is a good educational experience for the proletarians, reinforcing in them true communist values - sacrifice through hard uncompensated labor, humility, and respect for authority of the Party's founder.

It also provides a metaphysical experience wherein the proletarians can reach the state of spiritual enlightenment as motes of a vast collective. Vodka also helps.

Apart from raising our awareness about capitalism as the source of the world's troubles, Earth Day is a celebration of uncompensated collective work for the Greater Good.

Thus both Earth Day and Subbotnik coincided on so many levels that it was only logical to combine them into one holiday.

Russian government officials celebrate Lenin's Birthday by ritualistic shoveling of earth in front of their office.

Why can't we be like other progressive nations?

The "Green" movement is now and has always been a ruse to advance socialism. It fabricated a dire need to "Save the Earth" in order to justify relentless growth of bureaucratic authority. It invented "Global Cooling," then "Global Warming" and now "Climate Change" to perpetuate its original false hysteria. Ultimately, it seeks a new form of government with the authority to control every aspect of our lives in order to "protect the environment." In actualiity, "Earth" Day has never been about saving the environment but rather has always been about political control by a few over many, and a compliant press and dysfunctional educational system facilitates such an outcome.

Speaking of Lenin's birthday, here's a great picture of Lenin on a beet farm by a modern Russian artist Vasili Shulzhenko, who might as well be an honorary member of our kollektive.
