I'd never met Alex Newman before this interview. He's an awesome guy and I wish I could talk as fast as he does.

How you were speaking of the dismissal of human nature and the Soviet leaders attempting to perfect humanity reminds me of German "philosopher" Nietzsche's book Thus Spoke Zarathustra, which spoke of the overman. It was written in the late 1880's. I have no doubt that both Marx and Hitler had read it. I read it and found the depiction of what he desired for humanity to be abhorrent. Much the same as I found Plato's Republic to be abhorrent. All leftists I've ever known and had conversations with consider both books, amongst others, to be a foundational part of their thinking.

it's beautiful, thank you. No doubt a remake of a medieval illustration. The dragon has two heads just like the Russian double-headed chicken eagle.

All of them were trying to change human nature because the social systems they were building weren't fit for normal existing human. Well, guess what? Human nature cannot be changed. Hence the systems will never work and must be scrapped. But that's not what the socialists are doing. They are redoubling their efforts - just like Putin when he learned that his initial assumption about Ukraine welcoming his army had been wrong, he didn't retreat but instead brought heavy artillery and strategic bombers.

As for the creation of the New Soviet Man, that was one of the three foundations of building capitalism, each of them unrealistic:

1. New Man capable of living in a communist society
2. Worldwide socialist revolution so that no bourgeois poison anywhere was left to tarnish the glorious social transformation towards communism.
3. Technical progress and material abundance that would ensue once the workers would own means of production (factories, land, etc.), which would make hard manual labor a thing of the past and leave only enjoyable jobs that people could choose freely and take turns doing them.

Once those preconditions were met, state, family, and private property would wither away and humanity would continue as one happy family into the communist future.

Yes. And then they would follow the philosophy of Plato's Republic and invade other nations to acquire the slaves to take care of the manual labor, or as Democrats are doing and just letting in millions of illegal immigrants across the border to be economic slaves along with their "minority" brethren and sisters. It's been a common practice through human history.

I have not slept a full night since this thing began either.  None of it makes sense and it's driving me nuts.  So much so that my brain cracked like a glow stick and I remembered my user name and password just so I could post this.

Is that what you meant, Oleg? That just seems a little out of place. I'll delete this comment if that is what you meant. Or you can. It just seems to me that you used the wrong word there. Just saying.

Well done, Red Square - thank you very much for devoting your time and energy to fighting the good fight: suffering slings and arrows without a doubt, but surely not making an outrageous fortune from it.

If character and financial destruction wasn’t enough, spending an Alinsky Thanksgiving with the in-law ‘Christians’ who brought Ortega to Nicaragua and more nonsense to public schools made sure ‘pelipsky kept moral sanity in this mythical horned lagomorph’s Kafka shaped mind to self. 30 plus years of American communism.

Now, we’re participants in the destruction of Oleg’s homeland by this bizarre form of American communism that thrives on incompetence and corruption at tax payers’ expense.
