Notable/Quotable: More of the insufferable totalitarian impulse

Kamala Harris, the red diaper doper baby, on the meaning of equality and equity:

Equality does not mean everybody should get the same thing, it means no one is born to rule over society and no one is born to be ruled. It means we are all equal before the law.

Equity does not mean everyone should end up in the same place it means being fair and impartial in your dealings.

What Kamala Harris is in effect saying is fairness and impartiality mean she and her like-minded friends should have complete totalitarian control over society. If that kind of logic appeals to you you'll love the Kommie Kamala.

Most Equally Esteemed Comrade Margaret,

Reading your most equal post brought back memories of Equity Indoctrination from grade school in the 1960s.

The teachers always “paired” those of us capable of completing a project with one of the booger/paste eating morons.  You know, the kids whose only possible achievement could be eating their PB&J at lunch without making too big a mess.  The “smart” kid would complete the project and then the pair of them would get the smart kid’s grade.  Win-Win-Win for the teacher.  The class has a higher grade average, the booger/paste eating morons are someone else’s problem for a while, and the smart kids were conditioned to exploitation.

I always resented being exploited in such a fashion.  My first act of rebellion occurred in the 3rd Grade.  I refused to comply.  I was marched to the Principal’s office where I was lectured on Civic Responsibility.  My parents were called when I asked why the booger/paste eating moron wasn’t getting a lecture about Civic Responsibility for not contributing but getting a grade someone else earned.  Oddly the smarmy “out of the mouths of babes” cliche didn’t apply to me.

Absorbing lessons like that made me the subversive fish I am today.
