Question: Is Comrade John Mackey of Whole Foods playing both sides of the ideological fence in order to sell his new book "Conscious Capitalism"? You be the judge.

Big-Government wrote:Whole Foods CEO John Mackey delivered the opening keynote address for the International Students for Liberty Conference this weekend. Mackey stressed that capitalism has the power to eradicate poverty in the next century, expressed concern over capitalism's “branding problem”, and maintained that “self-interest” alone is an insufficient moral foundation for the system. The themes presented by Mackey closely followed the premises of his new book, Conscious Capitalism."

Is Mackey juggling the books?

Proponents of government control often point to wealth disparity as a social evil resulting from capitalism.

Socialism presents no such social evils as there is no wealth! EVERYBODY is poor! Ummm, everybody except for society's noble leaders, heads of state, government officials, apparatchiks and their cronies who deserve extra perks and benefits (like mansions and limos) for serving the people.

Forward!

Sounds to me like Comrade Mackey hasn't spent enough quality time in the Beet Fields.

Does anyone see any beets in that photo? Hmmm???

That is the Potemkin Food Aisle which only has fruits and vegetables that can be deep fried and covered with gravy for the First Lady. The beet aisle and the aisle where I get my government cat kibble (90% saw dust Soylent Tree, 10% poison vitamins from China) are elsewhere in the store.
