"National Harm" by The Fed Internees

User avatar
An ode to our soon-to-be improved national health system, and drawing on the Dead Kennedy's “Chicken Farm,” which is originally about Vietnam, Pol Pot, re-education camps, US imperialism, and bashing "boat people":

Another rainy morning queueing at the clinic
Bartering for drugs or treatments, eh
Rifle shots ring out behind the darkened buildings
The "surgeries" have begun

Arranged in sheeted rows are today's “cured” bodies
Already picked clean when they were alive but sick
Tax-emptied pockets, devoid even of clothes
To sell a find'd need a license, if you could

Thanks! my other brethren
Thanks for the National Harm
Equality over treatment
You might even feel a qualm

We're going down
To the National Harm

Obama reigns no more
But the farce goes on
Little brother died of measles got the normal way
He found a new friend of anti-vaccine progs
All died after fevered fits

How many more children
Will be killed or die at birth
Deformed by anti-vaccine
Froth as health policy forever more

We're going down
To the National Harm

This time we'll get our health back
I've got a plan; no more waiting
I smuggled you this cash
In the patch I strapped on my eye

We'll go for black market treatment, love
We're infected and ejected one by one in this plan
We crawl past G-men and "docs" at penpoint all day
Who deduce all of our ailments--by hand

We shiver on the beds and stiffen for the worst
If anesthesia comes, we might thank we're not dead
I'd rather get my health care private
And be treated by skilled people
Even for the love of gold

Navigating a maze no one can understand
Clinic staff just speak progressive “hospitality”
Elderly outside get beat up to the tune
Of "Old people, die soon!"

Sliced with a machete
From the breast to genitals
Old health care was kinda costly
But it sure beat the National Harm
