[ PROG OFF ]

Capitalism turns luxuries into necessities. Socialism turns necessities into luxuries.

A reader sent me an email with his own take on a quote from Andrew Carnegie, which he flipped and expanded. I posted a longer text version of this earlier, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized it needed to be shortened, become a graphic meme, and have a topic of its own. Enjoy and share!

And for the lovers of grunge, who may find the image above too pretty, here's a nitty-gritty version. Because capitalism is all about choice!

In the south of Belgium (Wallonia), the grip of the local socialist "Barons" is getting stronger and stronger. Last year these courageous heroes of the people prevented hunderds of thousands of others to get to work by national strikes with destruction of railroads, blockades and once even the storming of a minister's office (and subsequent trashing), all in the name of progress.

This all happened shortly after the terrorist attacks, thus crushing the economy even more. In the north of the country (Flanders) we don't even remember when or why they strike, it just happens once in a while, like rain or a severe flu epidemic.

In the picture below some heroes of the people are turning the necessity of heating into a luxury, no doubt by burning pieces of their own roof, so next week they can have a glorious strike because the fascist government doesn't do anything about their wet furniture.

In this funny image (oh, the Irony!) a socialist delegation from Greece has come (cfr. the blue-white flags) to teach us how to run a country the right way. Yes, you heard it. Greece.
