Castro Vows Blockade Will Continue Until US Regime Change

Castro encapsulated his thoughts on the US embargo during a three and-a-half-hour talk he gave at the recent C7 meeting.

You must understand, Socialism is the most just and advanced economic system ever devised - this is why we are socialists! This is why we had a revolution in the first place! Why would we want anything from the United States? What can they offer us? So what if there is a Capitalist country with an embargo against Cuba?

We had a revolution because socialism is the best economic system. Get it? THE BEST ECONOMIC SYSTEM. What could we possibly gain from the capitalists? If we were to complain about an embargo by a Capitalist country that would be like admitting we're wrong. It would be like saying Socialism needs Capitalism.

Socialism can stand on its own two feet. We are not wrong, socialism is the best economic system. For what possible reason could we with the best economic system care about a capitalist embargo? They can have their embargo - they're just fooling themselves.
