Fidel Castro, enemy of the Revolution

Comrades, it is with a heavy heart that I must denounce Fidel Castro. Such talk must be dismissed as the ravings of a feeble old man in the grip of Alzheimer's.

Fidel Castro: Cuban model outdated
Latest News - UPI.com September 08 2010

HAVANA, Sept. 8 (UPI) -- Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro says the style of communist government he put in place a half century ago no longer works.

The Atlantic reported on its Web site Wednesday that when asked whether the Cuban model of government was still worth exporting, Castro replied, "The Cuban model doesn't even work for us anymore."

The U.S. magazine said an interpreter explained Castro "wasn't rejecting the ideas of the revolution."

"I took it to be an acknowledgment that under 'the Cuban model' the state has much too big a role in the economic life of the country," the interpreter was quoted as saying.

Castro, 84, turned over the reins of the Cuban government to his brother Raul in 2006 after suffering a serious intestinal illness. Now recovered, he still wields power in the country as head of its Communist Party.

Raul Castro has been allowing incremental domestic reforms that include allowing Cubans to own land and use computers and cellphones.

"Dear Leader allows us to use cell phones," what Glorious phrasing, warming collective hearts across the motherland. Dear Leader allows or disallows, controlling the proletariat for the good of the State the way God intended.

User avatar
What a glorious point, Comrade Comrade. We should be praising the One ™, who is the ONE in his own special eyes as well, for allowing us to pay more and more taxes, otherwise, how would he continue to spend OPM and grown the economy? We need to remember, He is also going to allow us to pay necessarily higher utility bills to save the world. I am so thrilled that I am almost wishful he wouldn't allow us so much.

User avatar
Comrade Whoopie, I too was just shocked and sickened to see the comments alleged to have been made by Comrade Castro. Of course it is quite possible that he has simply slipped into dementia at his advanced age. Or perhaps he has finally succumbed to one of the endless attempts by the Bushitler right wing attack squads? Either way, it is sad that here at a time when the Glorious uprising of the United Socialist States of America has finally come to fruition, thanks in part to the wise and valuable support that Comrade Castro has contributed to the cause for so many years. I am hesitant to call for his cardboardization at this time for that reason, but we must be prepared for this eventuality.

Comarade Marshall Pupovich....

This piece is from a "reformed" ex-Socialist at the Atlantic.
I am sure this is simply made-up propaganda! Look at his own words!

When I asked him, over lunch, to answer what I've come to think of as the Christopher Hitchens question - has your illness caused you to change your mind about the existence of God? - he answered, "Sorry, I'm still a dialectical materialist." (This is funnier if you are, like me, an ex-self-defined socialist.)

I DENOUNCE Jeffrey Goldberg for this! Lies, distortions of facts and general prevarication are the tools of the Party, and for him to use them is BLASPHEMOUS!

User avatar
It is clear this is not Fidel Castro speaking, but rather GEORGE BUSH disguised as Fidel Castro!

User avatar
Castro was set up for failure from the beginning.

He lacked an Eric Holder. He lacked an ACORN. He lacked deep Soros pockets and last but not least, he lacked teleprompters.

Its gonna work this time, I feel it in my bones!

Comrade Buffoon, such an excellent point to have made. Perhaps Loyal Castro needs an Obama Bailout? We have so much and Obama is so giving............ of OPM, that is.

User avatar
Comrades! This is REVOLUTIONARY talk!

Obviously the stomach problems have addled his brain.

It must be trickery! Cuba just wants a new shipment of 1954 Chevy's.

Yes Comrade, I simply am unable to easily explain how this once pillar of progressiveness could have revealed such truth as he did about Israel, and in such a concise and accurate manner:

He said the Iranian government should understand the consequences of theological anti-Semitism. "This went on for maybe two thousand years," he said. "I don't think anyone has been slandered more than the Jews. I would say much more than the Muslims. They have been slandered much more than the Muslims because they are blamed and slandered for everything. No one blames the Muslims for anything." The Iranian government should understand that the Jews "were expelled from their land, persecuted and mistreated all over the world, as the ones who killed God. In my judgment here's what happened to them: Reverse selection. What's reverse selection? Over 2,000 years they were subjected to terrible persecution and then to the pogroms. One might have assumed that they would have disappeared; I think their culture and religion kept them together as a nation." He continued: "The Jews have lived an existence that is much harder than ours. There is nothing that compares to the Holocaust." I asked him if he would tell Ahmadinejad what he was telling me. "I am saying this so you can communicate it," he answered.

This revelation of factual history could prove to be more damaging than when our beloved Alger Hiss was so brutally maligned....if....if that were to be considered rationally by all parties considered. Thank Lenin there is little danger in this. Yet it leaves us with the difficult decision...what do we do about Comrade Fidel? He has been such a joy for so many years, it is sad to see him succumbing to dementia. Perhaps a weekend with Commissar Theocritus and the MTE could bring him back to his senses?

User avatar
Ahem, comrade Buffoon, some would say (but not me) that Che' was Castro's Eric Holder, the deep pockets were provided by the Soviet Union and without the Right to vote, no tyrant needs ACORN.

Of course, how silly is that? So you didn't hear it from me.

Comrades,

While on its face this talk about communism not working is truly distressing news coming from such an icon and mentor of the Party™ as don Fidel is, but may I humbly submit for your rumination something else I heard today while eavesdropping on some reichwing radio talk show.

We should all know that to take the "communist" out of don Fidel is like trying to take the "red" out of meat. Fidel is a lot smarter than kapitalist konservative reichwingers, and their gullible analysis, thinking that somehow he had a change of heart and is seeing the light their kapitalist way. He knows what they want to hear and exactly how to say it. With my ear to the ground, I heard that don Fidel is desperately out of money. He's so out of money that he can't pay anyone a plug nickel. Cuba is flat broke.

Fidel understands that their are some comrades in the U.S. Politburo who are sympathetic to his wanting to end the Embargo™. Many fellow comrades working for Dear Leader believe the Embargo™ must come to an end. But don Fidel also knows that Change™ is blowing in the autumn air. I believe he understands that there is going to be a tsunami of kkkonservatives moving into the Politburo after November elections.

In order to set the stage for these newcomer kkkonservatives, don Fidel needs to start his "Communism Doesn't Work™" campaign early... getting the propaganda out now so that it's disseminated properly and saturating the proliteriat. Fidel understands that if he can get enough booboisie Americans to believe he really has a change of heart from communism, that may put some pressure on the Politburo to end the Embargo™ thus opening the floodgates of kkkapitalism into his republic. I'm sure don Fidel sees how China is doing things: establishing a kapitalistic ecomic system while maintaining the iron fist of autocracy, and wants the same thing for his island gulag.

So he goes around saying "communism doesn't work/he's sorry for threatening to nuke Amerika and working with the Russians", etc. blah blah. That doesn't mean that he means it, and if he gets that Embargo™ lifted, that's all he ever wanted. And when that happens he will light a big, fat stogie and laugh at the kapitalist suckers all the way to the Banco Popular.

Agreed Dear Leader is 3 degrees beyond giving!

But there are insane people in this world that just don't get it!

User avatar
I DENOUNCE THIS FRIEDMAN. How are we, the glorious collective, supposed to managed to live like the uber rich, if we do not have OPM??!!

User avatar
It is sad that the inspiration to my namesake, El Presidente, has taken such a position.

User avatar
Comrades! I believe I have an explanation for Comrade Castro's comment about the Cuban system not working any more, which on the face seemed to be ThoughtCrime of the highest order. But this morning I was enjoying some Party Beet Coffee and smoking a People's Cigarette (a brand which I must report has been of some nuisance with the tobacco falling out the loosely packed roll, and it's oddly green appearance when I am used to a browner leaf) when it came to me. Of course the Cuban system does not work anymore! What Comrade Castro is saying is that the Cuban collective is now so finely tuned that it does not need to struggle any more to provide it's citizens with the very best medical and nutritional care, provide for law and order and security etc, it just cruises along with hardly any need for further controls! Nor should anyone suggest that because the Cuban system does not work any more that the United Socialist States of America's newly established collective will not work, we will have to continue to put in our best effort for the time being.

Now I am still working on his other mysterious brief but accurate historical take in regard to the Jews, I am sure I will find an explanation soon.

User avatar
Marshal Pupovich, I find your thought explanation, or rather illustrative interpretation, most fitting & timely. It is this sort of glorious, thoroughly inventive, mind-speak, that makes a true progressive, a real Prog. You exemplify Jiffy-Lo, showing it's highest quality of reeducation.

I must take notes to share at our next Jiffy-Lobo Evaluation "training- camp" Expo.

Such lies is making for outrage on me! There are no peoples being more maligned than my poor Mooslim country peoples. Why, one only has to be for looking at what is for happening at most innocent community center at Park41 to know what true malignancy is!

I think I am about to be for the faint after reading of such things.

And Comrade Whoopie, what is with your first foto of the Castro that it is looking like he is for wearing the straight jacket?

انها تناسب المسار

Oh? A white track suit?

كنت مثل احمق

What? Is he for thinking he is an old granny living in the Miami Florida?

الهرب إلى أمريكا

Yes, I am for knowing many of his country people have been for moving there but that is not good for him to be dressing like the wymens. Is he for thinking he is like the Muslemens who are for wearing the burkha? I am not for thinking.

It must be for his sickness that he is for the saying of such. He has lost his robustness because of so much sickness.

Perhaps the Frau and I should be for bringing to him some of the Goat Gonad Soup so he may be made for restoration.

User avatar
Leave it to the Marshal for contriving a plausible explanation of Fidel's implausible statements. This comrades, is how the current truth is manufactured.

Of course, after decades of struggle true Communism has finally been attained. This concept can best be illustrated by this old Soviet joke.

Q: Will there be KGB in communism?

A: As you know, in communism, the state will be abolished, together with its means of suppression. People will know how to self-arrest themselves.

No my friends, we will not live long enough to see communism here, but our children... poor children.

User avatar
Mrs. Al, your "انها تناسب المسار " is so very good. I love all the tiny, cute lettering.

You are correct in your astute assessment that your people are so misunderstood and maligned. After all, it is only a few handful . . . . or thousand... or so... who go around killing, blowing things up, self exploding, beheading and stoning, is it not? It isn't like those few are doing that here in Amerika - well, umm, not too many and I'm sure they were provoked. cough cough

User avatar
So now Fidel backtracks and prevaricates "I never meant to say Communism doesn't work."
Well Fidel, here are some other counter-revolutionary quotes you made...

“This doesn't work, I'm resigning!” (Fidel Castro, July 1959 during political crisis with his puppet “President” Manuel Urrutia)

“This doesn't work! Terrible mistakes were made (especially in adopting Che Guevara's moral incentives)–we need material capitalistic incentives. So I'm resigning!” (Fidel Castro, July 1970, after the much-ballyhooed “10 million ton” sugar harvest proved way short and utterly disastrous.)

“The capitalists organize production better than we do. There's much we can learn from them.” (Fidel Castro, 1986 during “Rectification Process” i.e. another “re-evaluation” after another economic crisis.)

“We are not afraid of the market. We are not afraid of economic reform. The people understand the reasons behind them and support them.” (Fidel Castro. Nov. 1991 announcing Cuba's “Special Period” i.e. loss of Soviet Sugar Daddy–another re-evaluation after another economic crisis.)

User avatar
Comrade Whoopie, surely you must realize, comrade Fidel is allowed to define, or redefine, the meaning of "is" aren't you? Thus, he is able to reinterpret any and all statements made, as all good Prog are able to. We can't be expected to be held to some unattainable standard, hoisted upon us by reichwingers, after all. NEIN!

User avatar
Well Frau, since you are the Commisarka of corrected thoughts, I better take your word for it.

(I don't want to risk you batting those goo-goo-googly eyes at me)

User avatar
COMRADE WHOOPIE, it would be more than "goo-goo eyes" batting you! Pinkie has left me instruction as where the key to "THE shovel" is and I am at liberty to use it "as needed".

Castro: I Meant That 'Capitalist System' Doesn't Work
Published: Friday, 10 Sep 2010 | 4:12 PM ET
By: Reuters

Fidel Castro said Friday his recent comment that communist-led Cuba's economic model does not work was badly understood and that what he really meant was that capitalism does not work.

Castro, speaking at the University of Havana, said his words had been misinterpreted by his interviewer, U.S. journalist Jeffrey Goldberg of the Atlantic Monthly magazine, who quoted a U.S. analyst saying they indicated Castro now supports a smaller state role in the island's Soviet-style economy.

Goldberg wrote in a blog on Wednesday that he asked Castro, 84, if Cuba's model was still worth exporting to other countries.

"The Cuban model doesn't even work for us anymore,'' Castro told him.

Castro confirmed that he said those words "without bitterness or concern.'' But, he said, "the reality is that my response means exactly the opposite.''

"My idea, as the whole world knows, is that the capitalist system now doesn't work either for the United States or the world, driving it from crisis to crisis, which are each time more serious.''

Castro's words to Goldberg had been interpreted by some as a rejection of communism, by others as an indication that he supports economic reforms being implemented by his younger brother, President Raul Castro. FULL STORY

Comrades Whoopie, Pulloski, and other soon to be candidates for the Karl Marx Re-Education Center...The Honorable Comrade Fidel never expressed a comment that either crossed Party lines nor contradicted earlier statements of truth. Have you forgotten that most basic skill? The art that is "Doublethink?"

User avatar
Comrade Buffoon, I do believe you have hit the prole on the head - it will take our dearest fearless Leader to implement the true glories of redistribution of communism. (and I am certainly of joy that I will be counted among the deserving Elites Progs to benefit directly from such redistribution.) Maybe there's a possibly that Comrades Castro will learn a few things from Obama. sigh
