Police in the Alpine French settlement of Scionzier, where American Secretary of State John Kerry was injured in a bicycling accident, have released their preliminary report regarding the incident.

Scionzier Police inspector Jacques Strappe held a press conference Friday to clarify any questions arising from the mishap.

Strappe confirmed that the Secretary was obeying all applicable traffic regulations and that he was wearing a safety helmet, knee and elbow pads, a Kevlar-reinforced dental guard, and an appropriate reflective riding tunic.

The report states that Secretary Kerry had few problems negotiating the initial turns of his planned route, but when the American rider came to the first right-hand turn, he instinctively leaned left and plowed into the curb.

Kerry reportedly told first responders that he was thinking of the continuing effort to facilitate Iranian nuclear weapon development when he saw the traffic sign warning of the upcoming right turn and that he immediately leaned left in response.

"I blame Cruz and Paul," the dazed Secretary told the police investigators as he was loaded into an ambulance at the scene.

"There was some question as to whether Monsieur Kerry or his minkey was breaking the leu by riding a bicycle without a proper le-sanz."
