We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we set. So spake The One. Not relying on the military to defend the Motherland makes a lot of sense because it is quite obvious that the Army doesn't have the faintest idea how to defend and keep people safe. In the spirit of hope and change, let's apply this to other aspects of American life.

We cannot continue to rely on plumbers to unclog our drains.
We cannot rely on Fox News for the truth.
We cannot rely on people to know what is best for their families. We need the government to tell us how to best spend our money.
We cannot rely on a fence with Mexico to keep out illegal aliens. We will rely on Hope and Change for that.
We cannot rely on the Police and Firemen to protect us. We will rely on Community organizers instead.
We cannot rely on the public to listen to the right radio stations (NPR) so we will have the fairness doctrine to tell the people what to listen to.
We cannot rely on farmers to grow food for us. Grab your shovel and harvest for the people.

Comrade, you will only receive a weapon if you join Obama's Civilian Security Force and pledge your utmost allegience to the Messiah. If you arm the "regular" people there might be risk of an overthrow of the new Progressive government.
