House Votes to Dethrone Obama's Czars
Friday, 18 Feb 2011 01:37 PM
By David A. Patten

The architect of a daring GOP attempt to strip congressional funding for nine executive branch “czars” says it's only the first salvo in a much larger battle to reverse “radical policies” promulgated by the Obama administration.

“Under President Obama, we've seen a proliferation of czars,” Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., told Newsmax the day after the House passed his amendment to block spending any federal funds on nine czars, or “special presidential advisers.”

“These czars are implementing radical policies,” Scalise told Newsmax in the exclusive interview Friday. “They circumvented the accountability and scrutiny that goes with Senate confirmation, and that's called for in the Constitution.”

It appears that Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La, seems to think the Constitution still applies here in the Democratic Socialist USSA.

Comrades,

Maybe this poor bumpkin from Louisiana has not yet read the memo about the Constitution being not applicable to the occupant of the White House.

Maybe he should be sent another copy with much larger font and no polysyllabic words! All hail dear leader!

Just who do these House Rethuglicans think they are? Do they think they're representative of the People? WRONG!!! The People elected Dear Leader Obama to lead us to the Glorious Progressive World of Next Tuesday. That's all that matters. So what if Dear Leader needs a few Special Advisers to help him? When...sigh...will these Reich Wingers get it? The People spoke loud and clear in '08, we won, they lost!

Anyway, Dear Leader promised to fundamentally change our Government and he has made good on his promise. The House is no longer relevant or needed. It was relevant when under the kind leadership of Saint Nansky, but that was last year. Soooooo, onward and upward Comrades. Just ignore the nasty little man from La. and maybe he'll go away.

THE FILM "TOO HOT" FOR PUBLIC TV
By Cliff Kincaid

NewsWithViews.com

As Congress debates federal funding for public TV and radio, Mary Grabar has written a column for Pajamas Media about how telling the truth about the Castro regime in Cuba is not an assignment that the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) has wanted to take on.

She focuses on how Agustin Blazquez, a Cuban exile, ran into a series of roadblocks from PBS and its parent, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), when he requested funding for films on life under the Castro dictatorship and Castro's murderous accomplice Che Guevara. Not only did public TV refuse to fund the anti-communist films, public broadcasting would not consider airing them.

His new documentary, “Che: The Other Side of an Icon,” also got the label “too hot” for public TV. It is a response to what Blazquez calls “the pro-Che propaganda in the popular press.” He explains, “It profiles the life of the man killed in Bolivia, as well as ‘Che,' the icon, who lives on today. It presents the real man behind the myth, his legacy and why he has become so popular among the youth, revolutionaries and terrorists of the world. It explores the dangers of believing in Che's carefully constructed fake public image.”

You are correct to remind us that "Che Lives" despite such efforts by the Reich Wingers. Indeed, he lives on the t-shirtted chests of, and in the minds of, college students wisely expending the fruits of their parents' capitalist decadence to learn (from our comrades in the professoriate) to denounce and repudiate such capitalist decadence. It's truely an example of Lenin's metaphor about the capitalists providing the rope for their own nooses.

One of the many things that help make this possible is the willingness of courts in Britain, in France and elsewhere outside the United States to treat as meritorous the glorious claims by Alberto Diaz Gutierrez (a.k.a. "Korda") and now by the Korda estate/heirs and also by Che's granddaughter seeking punitive damages against anyone mocking, satirizing, or parodying the glorious iconic image of Che or merely displaying, exhibiting or adapting it in any manner deemed by the Korda estate/heirs and/or Che's granddaughter to be "disrespectful" towards the memory of Che as a hero of the Revolucion and savoir of all human beings able and willing to submit to the utopia we are creating.

Fortunately for our collective goals, the effect of such potential liabilities for persons and/or companies doing business outside the United States and thus amenable to the jurisdiction and authority of courts outside the United States has been that many such companies have capitulated to threats of litigation by the Korda estate/heirs and Che's granddaughter with respect to any satirization, parodying, adaption or display of the iconic image of Che in any manner disapproved by the Korda estate/heirs and/or Che's granddaughter.

However, I'm told by members of the Inner Party that some of our KGB agents have learned that there is an American lawyer currently researching ways to enable capitalist pigs to overcome the social justice protection for the memory of Che currently being provided by courts outside the United States. We are watching him closely.

Excellent Fearless Leader! May we keep an eye on that kapitalist pig, for there is a supplicating problem with neo-kulak's using the the image of our beloved Che. However, we don't have to worry, the konservatives are far to nice and kind to wear demeaning images of the dead Che Guevara on a t-shirt. Of course our proles can wear a F*ck Bush t-shirt in a heartbeat for The Revolution™, but these neo-kulaks are bunch of sissies -- and would rather eat their own than offend their neighbor. So....

Che should be free! Free! Like the glorious ideology of The People™ he professes.

Intellegence reports indicate that the capitalist pig lawyer is already aware of spreadshirt's obliviousness to, and/or ignorance of, threats by Korda-Estate/CheGranddaughter, but other aspects of those reports indicate he's seeking a way to enable certain other capitalists with a greater market share to cease wetting their pants whenever Korda-Estate/CheGranddaughter make their threats. Fortunately for the collective, reports are that he recognizes that the narrower grasp of free speech by courts outside the U.S. (e.g., in Britain, France, etc.) makes it a daunting task to persuade certain capitalists with massive market share to defy the wishes of those seeking to preserve the heroic image of our beloved Che. Though electronic surveillance, one of our agents heard him paraphrasing Yogi Berra by saying, "It ain't over 'til the fat lady says 'It's over.'"
