Hugo Chavez on the Obamessiah

Listen to this, Comrades!

Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez said on Tuesday that he and Cuban ally Fidel Castro risk being more conservative than U.S.President Barack Obama as Washington prepares to take control of General Motors Corp. During one of Chavez's customary lectures on the "curse" of capitalism and the bonanzas of socialism, the Venezuelan leader made reference to GM's bankruptcy filing, which is expected to give the U.S.government a 60 percent stake in the 100-year-old former symbol of American might. "Hey, Obama has just nationalized nothing more and nothing less than General Motors. Comrade Obama! Fidel, careful or we are going to end up to his right," Chavez joked on a live television broadcast. During a decade in government, Chavez has nationalized most of Venezuela's key economic sectors, including multibillion dollar oil projects, often via joint ventures with the private sector that give the state a 60 percent controlling stake.

Comrade Chavez is indeed correct. He and comrade Castro must hurry to ensure they keep up with Comrade Obama in his progressive changes of the USSA.

Comrade Joe,

Comrades Castro and Chavez are obviously taken aback at the progress of our progress! They are absolutely right that they will be on the right of Our Savior. However, I denounce Comrade Chavez for leaving a "private sector." This is Fascim and cannot be tolerated! We must build an antifascist protection wall on our southern border! NOW!

I have some plans in my desk...

I think Hugo is just trying to stimulate a little friendly competition between equals. Remember the old Soviet/US missile gap? Well, now we can have a nationalization gap. Each leader striving to outdo the other in the speed of his power grab.

It's like those old game shows where you had to run through a grocery and grab as much stuff and put it in your cart in the allotted time.

Of course to make it fair, Obama will need unlimited terms in office just like Hugo has.
