Excerpt from a very helpful memo from the Third Way: 'Was it something I said?'

"For a party that spends billions of dollars trying to find the perfect language to connect to voters, Democrats and their allies use an awful lot of words and phrases no ordinary person would ever dream of saying. The intent of this language is to include, broaden, empathize, accept, and embrace. The effect of this language is to sound like the extreme, divisive, elitist, and obfuscatory, enforcers of wokeness. To please the few, we have alienated the many—especially on culture issues, where our language sounds superior, haughty and arrogant.

In reality, most Democrats do not run or govern on wildly out-of-touch social positions. But voters would be excused to believe we do because of the words that come out of our mouths—words which sound like we are hiding behind unfamiliar phrases to mask extreme intent.

Why the tortured language? After all, many Democrats are aware that the words and phrases we use can be profoundly alienating. But they use it because plain, authentic language that voters understand often rebounds badly among many activists and advocacy organizations. These activists and advocates may take on noble causes, but in doing so they often demand compliance with their preferred messages; that is how “birthing person” became a stand-in for mother or mom. And if we don’t think more carefully about our language, many in America will be banking on help from Donald Trump and Republicans, because Democratic levers of power will be few and far between.

In this memo, we are putting a spotlight on the language we use that puts a wall between us and everyday people of all races, religions, and ethnicities. These are words that people simply do not say, yet they hear them from Democrats. Over the years we’ve conducted, read, and analyzed hours upon hours of focus groups, and we’ve yet to hear a voter volunteer any of the phrases below except as a form of derision or parody of Democrats. We’re not talking about techno-speak, like net-zero and climate resiliency. Those words put up their own Ivy League walls between policymakers and voters. Here we are focusing on the eggshell dance of political correctness which leaves the people we aim to reach cold or fearful of admonishment."

Comrade. I'm very happy that you found this and put it forth because I learned of it recently and thought it needed to be disseminated here and elsewhere but had not yet tracked down the list of now-abandoned terms.

I urge all comrades to view this shameful list of woke terms and take note of how and why they've  been jettisoned like a a can of chicken soup with a water-logged rodent found inside.

It appears, dear komrades, that the "enhanced vocabulary" has failed. "Unenhanced vocabulary" is the logical next step but Globalist Progressive Socialists have never allowed logic to deter them...

Once upon a time the Party’s cunning linguists invented clever words to hypnotize the masses and smuggle ideology past common sense. But the test subjects gagged, and now the same linguists are back with clipboards in hand, demanding to sanitize all the things they themselves sullied with their tongues.

They can never speak like normal humans, because normal human language would expose their revolutionary designs. If human nature doesn’t want what they’re selling, what’s a poor linguist to do but invent new tricks to hypnotize the unwashed?

We should not be reduced to catering to bourgeois democratic politics. False consciousness cannot be liquidated by catering to false consciousness. It is just a part of the superstructure of capitalism. This catering to capitalism has destroyed all revolutionary spirit and given us the very worst of the very worst possible worlds. The therapy for false consciousness isn't catering to it by trying to speak its language. This is abject surrender. This is the kind of thinking that has Balkanized the Left. In order to cater to bourgeois democracy and create voting constituencies the Left abandoned the only true class struggle, that of economic class, and for pure political gain substituted identity group voting classes. This has destroyed the revolution because identity politics has nothing to do with reality and is just catering to the capitalist class democratic superstructure with which they use to keep false consciousness alive. This has made the Left just another part of the capitalist superstructure of state. What needs to be done is to return to uniting us by our commonalities not differences. And our commonality is economic class and the class war against capital.

The way to fight false consciousness isn't to change the way we talk to false consciousness. Then we become part of the problem. To fight false consciousness we have to put the crackers back in the barrel and liquidate them all.

Reading this article elicited many laughs from this Salmon.  My favorite Big Lie was in the second paragraph:  "In reality, most Democrats do not run or govern on wildly out-of-touch social positions."  Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha etc.  

So many great lines in this piece.  I had to keep checking to make sure this came from Third Way and not from some sarcastic parody site (like The People's Cube).  Really, I guess you would have to be terminally tone deaf to actually believe what Democrats believe.  



This article is brilliant.  Even though we are superior in every way and have every reason to be haughty and arrogant, we can fool the "reluctant voter" into supporting our plans by just treating them like they are idiots.  After all, they are idiots and treating them as such has worked so well for us.   Or something!

Forget anything you know, or dream, about there being a purpose of government to secure your life, liberty, and pursuit of “nice things”. The Third Way knows how to keep the cracker’s mandates in the barrel while we liquidate good results of Trump’s mandatery.
