Notable and quotable: Sanders on the cost of his health plan

From The Washington Post Jan. 2, 2020:

Unlike Warren, Sanders has declined to specify how much it would cost to implement his Medicare-for-all plan.

“I don't give a number and I'll tell you why: It's such a huge number and it's so complicated that if I gave a number you and 50 other people would go through it and say, ‘Oh . . .” he said, his voice trailing off.

The cost of his plan isn't a number. There is no such number and never will be. The cost of his plan is your ability to govern your own life. The cost of his plan is you losing the means to possess your life by the means of your ability to govern your own life.

Economists quantifying the cost in numbers of the governance of things is a very shallow materialistic way of expressing the human condition.

We are the cost of socialism.

Most Equal Komrade KMRC,

How fortunate that there will not be just one victim. That would be a tragedy. Since it will be all of us it will merely be a statistic.
