Peace for our time.

Those were the glorious words so proudly proclaimed by British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlin on September 30, 1938 upon his return from a meeting with Herr Hitler.

“My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Go home and get a nice quiet sleep.”

FORWARD” you will 75 years. Another glorious leader, Barack Obama, proclaims an end to the Bush era perpetual “war on terror.” In a speech delivered on May 23, 2013 Dear Leader proclaimed

Beyond Afghanistan, we must define our effort not as a boundless 'global war on terror' but rather as a series of persistent, targeted efforts to dismantle specific networks of violent extremists that threaten America."

The famous “Mission Accomplished” banner can be proudly and appropriately raised once again, comrades. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Go home and get a nice quiet sleep.

Ah, Dear Leader knows the subtle art of redefinition. Let me rephrase His remarks as they pertain to World War II:

"Beyond Europe, we must define our effort not as a boundless 'World War' but rather as a series of persistent targeted efforts, on specific fronts, to dismantle violent Axis extremists that threaten the Free World."

In other words, Dear Leader is simply redefining the phrase "global war on terror" to the phrase "persistent targeted effort". It's reassuring to know that our Progressive leaders are following the usual path of redefining problems out of existence while simultaneously creating new ones.
