Washington DC -- "For too long the dead have been silent about being denied the right to vote!" Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi cried out, expressing the thoughts of many at the voting rights rally "Necro-Votes 2022."

The Necro-vote movement has gained a lot of momentum leading into the 2022 mid-term elections, with Democratic Party strategists recognizing the dead as one of President Biden's last - and strongest - bastions of support. The dead vote has trended strongly Democrat since the late 1990s.

The problem, organizers say, is most states don't yet allow the dead to vote openly and supporters have to resort to subterfuge to make sure the will of the deceased is felt at the voting booth.

Holding signs like "Disemboweled Shouldn't Equal Disenfranchised" and "They Gave Up the Ghost but Still Want to Vote", the attendees at this rally are hoping Ms. Pelosi can change that. She wants to make voting easier for the dearly departed by passage of H.R. 6324 "Build Back Deader," currently wending its way through congress.

The 6,432-page bill is complex legislation, but at its heart is the ability for people to continue voting for their party after they've successfully shuffled off their mortal coil.

One controversial part of the law would be creation of the new Government Agency of Spirit Perceivers (GASP), a federally licensed group of Ouija board operators that have the ability to communicate with the dead and discern their voting choices from the afterlife. If a State's Board of Canvassers disputes a dead voter's intentions after a vote is cast, US-GASP representatives can now be called on to arbitrate.

Ms. Pelosi believes that Rush Limbaugh and Ronald Reagan have converted to voting "D" after their demise, but "we have no way of knowing for sure until we pass this legislation."
