RIP Cal Worthington (and his dog Spot)

He was a foul and evil capitalist, but he certainly made me smile a lot when I lived in Southern California.

RIP Cal!! America is poorer without you.

I went to high school (Western HS, also attended by Tiger Woods) with his daughter, Jan, yes, I really did. Jan and I swam in their backyard swimming pool. We lived in Rossmoor, Los Alamitos, CA. I am sorry to hear of her father's death.

Remember that giant squirrel that went after the Worthington 'family jewels' on live TV?
That was funny as hell!

Let us not forget that one of Dear Leader's most early and most glorious acts was to rid our nation of Cal's environment-killing machines. Years of Reaganomics, untamed capitalism, and animal cruelty allowed Mr. Worthington to flood civil society with environmentally unfriendly gas-guzzlers while enriching himself into the 1%. But, those decades of decadence were no match for 6 months of Obama.

Well, hells bells!
I grew up in SoCal (uninhabitable now) in the 60's and 70's, and vividly remember all the Worthington __________ dealership commercials.
Truly an icon.

Yep, Comrade Marshal. As a musician in the mid to late 70s in SoCal, bedtime was usually about 5:00 am, and many were the laughs Cal gave me on late night L.A. TV :)

And also yep - it's now uninhabitable, sadly, or I'd still be there.

We had "Crazy Eddie" in New England at about that same time.
