The Graduates

Mrs. Robinson seduced and tried to hold Ben Braddock in a sick relationship that had nothing whatsoever to do with love or a healthy romance. She warned him not to see her daughter, the only person he had a real future with. To his credit he 'graduates' and moves on to a real life, a real love, a real relationship.

Obama here plays the part of Mrs. Robinson, the predatory seducer. Just as romance with Mrs. Robinson is no romance at all, Obama's idea of government has nothing to do with a healthy self-government. And he warns, don't turn to those that think this is an unhealthy relationship I want you to have with me. This is the real thing.

It's important to understand that a healthy free society needs government only in so far as government protects our individual rights so that we can live our lives on our terms and as well as we can. Within free society we do many things together. Things we really want to do and consider vital and important. Obama, indeed the entire Progressive agenda, has been to usurp this healthy free relationship within free society and impose their will through the coercive use of the State. Obama's idea of government is one where we vote for those to be in government and once elected those people can do with society whatever they think they can get away. If you don't like it then you vote against them in the next election. This is a very unhealthy relationship and has nothing to do with the American experiment in self-government.

What's that you say, Mrs Robinson? Jiltin' Joe has left and gone away. Hey, hey, hey.

Let's hope it's possible for today's graduates to get away from the sick relationship Obama wants to seduce and hold us in.

Reason for editing this post: Had to update The Graduate video because some commie had the You Tube account of the first purged.

Oh, $.$., haven't you figured out that people are entirely too willing to give up their sovereignty for pretty promises? I heard that the reason that Moses wandered in the desert for 40 years was to let the people with a memory of the certainty of slavery die, and let their children, who weren't born with a yoke, replace them.

I can't tell you the number of times that people have offered me control over any number of their affairs--either personally, financially, or in individual financial transactions. I always refuse except in the most limited circumstances, always leaving them the most possible agency of their own.

I've thought a lot about the perfect freedom from worry versus the freedom of action. The former is slavery, whether it's Islam or Opus Dei. Or some master/slave relationship. Freedom of action on the other hand requires people with a self-sufficient ego and the desire to tend to themselves, and who have not been brought up to love the yoke.

Which is what we're being given, and have been, since the start of social security.

I've always wondered what would happen to a random group of modern Americans finding themselves in place of our ancestors, i.e., no Obama phones. I give them 48 hours or so, then lights out.

And who will pay? The 1% of course! They are 1% and have all the money!

Uh, I don't quite get that.

Oh. Sorry. I'm a Made Prog and I'm owed.

As Pride goeth before a fall, lack of it is the hallmark of all who never rise.

Pistov, De Cartes said, Cogito ergo sum. I think, therefore I am. The prog motto is Sum ergo debeor, or I exist therefore I am owed.

I firmly believe that my life is a mortgage on the lives of all others. Because I'm owed.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

The first video from The Graduate that I used in order to properly make my point with a bold artistic flourish was scrubbed by You Tube. In fact it appears not only the video but the entire You Tube account.

That video and You Tube account had been up for several years. No problems. That video had hundreds of thousands of hits. It had been popular for a very long time.

Then one day I post it on the most popular damn commie forum on the internet and the within hours that You Tube account gets purged and thrown down the memory hole. Can't stand me making a point, can you!

So I posted another video from The Graduate. It's been on You Tube for years, too. Let's see how long it lasts now. You commies make me sick.

Perhaps you are unaware of YouTube's new money-making scheme?

I am willing to bet the most popular videos will disappear into the "for profit" bin.

Oh hell, Halliburton, haven't you reconciled to the fact that all the big money is liberal? Because they can buy what they want. I am hampered by having a really nice house here at the Rancho, and also by having a superbly capitalized business, and the girls here have no worries about paychecks.

I am SO WRONG. Why should I be responsible? After all, it's all a con game, with the Big Swinging Dicks telling other people what to do, and I include in this our Many Titted Empress.

Go with the flow. Figure out your best angle. Juice the needed people.

America! Pfui. Rubbish in the trash heap of history. And we thought that was Communism but then Reagan, spit, hiss, said that.

The future belongs to the totalitarian, because most people are happy in their collars. And bear in mind that we're spending about $150M for people to be informed of their rights under Obamacare.

I am crafting a deal with the Obama administration to add on Affordable Health Care Euthanasia to Jiffy-Lobo, but I find myself in need of a capital infusion. Are there any comrades who would, using others' money of course, give me the odd million, with a view toward enslaving others?

I'd be on it like a duck on a june bug but then I'm tapped out from buying supplies for the prisoners, er, guests, in my newest Gasthaus.

And damn it. It's just like Ariel Castro to get arrested just when I was about to brace him for pointers on subjugation.

User avatar
By the way, as an enticement, let me offer the prospect of the true satisfaction of enslavement of others: denying them their rights as humans, denying them dignity of being human, which they will trade to you, oh, temporarily, for some surcease in their daily troubles. But as dear Rahm Emanuel said, "A crisis is a terrible thing to waste. You can get a lot done in a crisis."

Just so. Time to put down the peasants on the south 40, and bury the impaling stakes. No reason. Let's get on to the real totalitarianism: robbing people of their dignity as humans.

Now that's what a Made Prog lives for.

Because he knows that he can be in the middle, get a stiffie negotiating rubbish, collect fees from both, retire from the field feeling good, and make people miserable. Because it's in a good cause, which his supervisors have told him and which he believes, because it makes him feel bigger.

[ Off]Watch this space. I'm fixing, and I'm a Texan and hence the colloquialism, to start throwing bombs, and since I don't need anyone and the government seems to need me, or thinks that I need it, which is much the same thing to people who have never held a truly productive job, I intend to cause as much heartburn as possible. Any requests? I'll try to work them in.

Why get it for free when you can pay for it!

I throw away enough money already.

Dear Theo, surprise me.

One Stop Shopping Jiffy-Lobo and Euthanasia already a long ago done deal here in Oregonistan.

The current mass hypnosis going on here- they are still trying to make Obamacare work.

The Oregon Experiment — Effects of Medicaid on Clinical Outcomes

FOOTNOTE-
The reason WHY the "Oregon Experiment" failed was because everybody went to the hospital Emergency Room just like usual-, making the "Experiment" completely pointless.

If The Graduate were remade today it wouldn't be all wrapped up in '60's portrayal of American prosperity and comfort as being an empty jaded ugly thing that must be escaped from. A remake of The Graduate today would be about the empty jaded ugly thing the collectivist dream is and it would be about a young graduate who's parents are successful democratic party operatives living in Washington DC. And the lyrics of the Simon and Garfunkel song The Sounds of Silence would mean a completely different sort of silence.
