Everyone's got the wrong idea about this government shutdown thing. For over a hundred years now, progs have been shutting down government, sucking the money out of the actual real government going on within society, and imposing themselves as little dictators.

There is no government in Cuba. It was shut down long ago. There was no government in the Soviet Union. They shut it down. There is no government in Venezuela. They shut that down. North Korea? No government.

Government is not Statism. This is why:

Government is by definition the control and regulation of a certain thing. Man differs from beast in that he knows of his own life as a life. You see that you have a life. You see that you are a life in time. The great gift of our abstract awareness is where the wheels of our human soul meet the road of the world. This simple fact is important to everything about us:

It is right to see yourself as a lifetime and govern yourself accordingly. It would be wrong not to do so, or you will suffer for it. You must control and regulate yourself.

To govern, to be a legitimate government, the nature of that which is governed must be obeyed. If you destroy the very nature of that which is being governed it isn't a governance of that thing but the denial of governance. This destroys.

An actual government of Man means that we must be free to govern our own lives. The American conception of legitimate government was based on this and it was referred to as the American experiment in self-government.

The entire purpose of the State was as a container built of the protection of our individual rights, our natural rights; our right to our own lives to pursue.

In that kind of society the State in only a very small but vital part of Government. Our freedom of association creates a cornucopia of institutions that serve the governance of our lives. That is actual government. That kind of society creates a beautiful welcome garden of wonders that serve to expand and grow our lives. Self-government, Government by any other name, creates a garden on earth.

The Left has been shutting down our ability to govern our own lives all over the world. They are not government; they govern us as things and not Man. They are dictators. They break us.

That is the government shutdown. Wherever socialists have taken over we witness the once beautiful garden fall back to wild as the concept of government fades from the minds of Man. We are reduced to no longer being able to govern our lives as is our birthright but only to govern ourselves on a day by day basis - like the poor fools in Venezuela... like animals.

That is what government shutdown looks like.

Self-governance requires self-mastery which requires philosophy which requires thinking. So yes comrade. Part of the government shutdown is the abandonment of all that makes this possible to do and apply. The threat of the shovel and all that.
