UN Considers Global Internet Police Force

Comrades,

It is about time that our glorious collectivist enterprise, i.e., United Nations, is considering a global internet police. We already see and hear thoughts of the masses via electronic mediums. Why not add the internet to the list? If the United Socialist States of America can grant a non-delegated power to itself to regulate, err, "net neutrality," then the UN may do the same. After all, equality is what we chase.

Brazilian representatives recently called on UN officials to create "global standards" for internet content, citing controversial web content like WikiLeaks that some consider a threat to national and global security. Backed by several other supporting nations including China and Saudi Arabia, the proposal would not constitute an internet takeover, says its authors. But this appears untrue as it would clearly hand over powers to international governing bodies to arbitrarily regulate internet content.

Remember, Comrades, regulation, "neutrality," or whatever is for the children. Regulation is good!

Might I suggest we put Robert B. Reichhhhhhhh in charge of this? Since the internet falls under the jurisdiction of the FCC, and he wants the Fairness Doctrine put back into practice, couldn't we just expand it to internet use, then make the FCC model the UN's model?

Commissar Elliott,

Implementation is in process. Did you not see the picture of "FCC board members"?

It looked like a reunion of former mental health internee's.

The are [NOT] very astute, and [UN] able to handle the intricacies associated with the internet, let alone controlling legal authority. The delegate from Zimbabwe seems best qualified. If this is as effective as past UN forces, it will cost lots of money but do nothing.
