Underwater noise pollution stresses aquatic animals

Underwater noise from outboard motors, sonar, offshore drilling, and surfing loudmouths is distracting, confusing, and even killing our aquatic comrades at an alarming rate. In fact, noise pollution has become the primary disruptor of copulation, communication, consumption of neighbors and swim bladder maintenance in all of Earth's oceans.

"More and more, scientists are discovering that noise not only interferes with an animal's cognitive processing of sounds, but also other types of stimuli, such as sight or smell. For example, boat noise interferes with the visual signals that cuttlefish use to communicate with each other," exclaimed Coral Nemo, author of Fish.

"There's growing evidence that boat noise may also contribute to fish death by interfering with their ability to learn. So much for school! Disability claims are on the rise. There's a communication breakdown between friends. Normal rumbles, bubbles, clicks, and grunts are distorted or masked by human babbling. It's disgusting!"
As Comrade Marx said, “For most of history, fish have had to eat one another to survive; today they are beginning to realize that, in order to survive, they must march together in protest.”

They must swim in protest, comrade; don't oppress the poor fishies any further by anthropomorphizing squirrelpomorphizing them

Oh, these poor cuttlefish, unable to text or instagram!

We must march, swim, prance, and hop in their defense. Oh, yes, and scurry and slither. And whatever other means of motion will accommodate the diverse fauna of Gaia. (The flora may demonstrate in place according to their own motion preferences.)

No worries! We're dealing with all the issues on the "first come first served" basis.

Comrade Salmon,

It's not your fault. Human noise causes H2O to chemically alter to CO2 which changes global climate, increases temperature, causes heavy snow in the mountains, rising oceans, drought, earthquakes, sun spots, meteor showers, hearing loss in salmon, and hail. We hope to have this situation cleared up Next Tuesday.tm
