I am quite familiar with this very piece! Everything about it is glorious; the costumes, the choreography, the music! It's not difficult to notice that the choreography requires each dancer to dance with their feet turned in, exactly the opposite of ballet, which is all about a dancer's turnout. An obvious expression of submission, since one can hardly move in this position! Nijinski's choreography!

The poor unlucky "sacrificial girl" i.e. "The Chosen One" doesn't seem to realize she has worked herself into this position. Once she knows, she is terrified! And doomed!
