Notable/Quotable: Big Brother is protecting you

It's time New York City Mayor began to self-identify as a woman. Saying "Big Sister is protecting you" sounds a lot less menacing.

Gutsy move, Comrade Direktor.

The suffix -er vs -a as a matter of context and source (e.g. a specific unspoken word which may or may not begin with an N) your use of "Sister" when its originating from Hizzhonna da Maya could use the -er, because he can, where you and I and people who look like us generally don't get to use a "final r" in communications without raising either cultural appropriation or outright racisms.

Fortunately as there is no "Ferguson crowd" forming, it looks like you got away with this one.

Attaboy, boss!

Thank you for pointing out the "cultural appropriation anxiety syndrome" in the original article. Indeed, saying "Big Brotha is watching/protecting you" would mean something that George Orwell was not equipped to describe.

It all depends on which Big Brother/Sister channel is being watched. “Violent New York subways is more perception, than reality.”
