"The Marvels" Changes Marketing to "Go see this movie you sexist, racist, homophobe"

Hollywood, CA -- The latest installment in the movie franchise called the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is titled "The Marvels" and was released a couple weeks ago.  The film is the long awaited sequel to the film "Captain Marvel" which was a huge hit back in 2019, grossing more than $1.1B.

The sequel has been under-performing since it opened, however, despite tripling the number of indestructable girlbosses.  The movie also features a large group of space-cats, traditionally a big draw for cinema-goers.

To try to generate some buzz for the movie and save it from being the least-watched MCU feature ever, Disney marketing staff are reportedly looking to change course as the film heads into the holiday season.

The original marketing posters for film had a picture of the three diverse female leads with the tagline underneath them stating "Higher. Further. Faster.  Together."  The new marketing materials seem to focus on the message "Go see this movie you sexist, racist, homophobe."

Flattery will get you nowhere. As the saying goes, "Flak means you're over the target".

I just watched the latest installment of Doctor Who - a stand-alone feature, like they used to make every Christmas. There was no Christmas this time, only a vague hint of preparations for some unspecified festivities. This film checks every single woke checkbox there is, as if the producers simply mixed all the latest politically correct tropes, sprinkled them with intersectional transgenderism, and tossed a visual word salad all over the good old flying police phone booth that didn't even fly this time. That salad was completely salt-free, fat-free, lactose-free, gluten-free, and smelled like soy-flavored feces.

There also was a pretty good fantasy/comedy series, Good Omens, starring the same David Tennant. Season 2 came out recently, and I enjoyed it until, in the very end, the two lead male characters, the angel and the demon, turned out to be gay and started kissing. It made no sense plot-wise and the producers obviously added as an afterthought. If gays like watching that, let them have an alternative ending, I don't care. But mainstreaming gayness in such a way was like a bitch-slap on the face of the unsuspecting viewers.

Is there any franchise left in this world that the woke haven't yet smeared in their soy-flavored feces?

I don't even want to watch the latest Star Trek for this reason. However...

Right now I'm watching Orville - which started as a funny parody of Star Trek, but has evolved into a pretty solid sci-fi series that's better written and produced than Star Trek. So far it's been pretty good and soy-free, and I'm hoping it stays that way until the end of Season 3. I give it two unlubricated thumbs up.

No one knows, because no one has watched it.

The studios know - Disney's latest annual report basically said 'making all our movies go woke is a risk, because audiences don't like it.  We don't care.'  Also, it's obvious in the different versions and marketing materials you see when they release movies in China.  I'm optimistic, though.  It's another example of the wheels of capitalism grinding slowly but exceedingly fine.  Competition is already springing up to make the movies 95% of the population wants to see.  The gay dinosaur studios will adapt or go bankrupt and all will once again be right with the world.  Cut to end credits, that's a wrap.

I have to make a correction regarding The Orville. While it is soy-free in most everything, I noticed it presents the same vision of the future as Star Trek - a non-capitalist future without money, based solely on merit and reputation.

Such a society would then be either fully militaristic, or it would require a gigantic and powerful government apparatus to operate. A bureaucratic monster like that would stifle any growth and innovation, corrupt morals, and focus mostly on influence peddling for the benefit of the bureaucratic elites.

It's sad that otherwise smart and talented people like Seth MacFarlane behind The Orville are complete nincompoops when it comes to social sciences.

That would actually make an interesting movie about the horrible sole-crushing side effects of this glorious future of mankind.  Alas, all the Hollywood bozos want to write is trite lunacy like the 'socialist ants' in Antman 3 or the 'You stole it from them, I stole it from you - that's capitalism' nonsense of the (hopefully) last Indiana Jones flick.

Note: I didn't watch either of these, I much prefer to watch detailed video reviews ripping these films apart than wasting my time watching any of them.  That's real entertainment!

I have heard that there is an implied lesbian relationship between two of the main characters but since I haven't seen the movie, I can't say for certain. I would much prefer watching the paint dry on Tractor Barn #2 than watch anything Disney is putting out. After copious shots of beet vodka, the drying pattern takes on the same atmosphere as a drive-in cinema. It's quite the cinematic experience. I can see all the faces of my past. It's a great comedy!

This is true in most cases except for Loki, which I think is on the same level as Men in Black. Loki is also an exception from all the Marvel superhero fairy tales. I liked Loki so much that I decided to watch the preceding Guardians movie for the backstory. But I couldn't get past the first 15 minutes of that nonsense, so I turned off the TV and went to find me some fresh paint to watch it dry.

Fascinating stuff, comrade, only The People's™ cab driver already has enough responsibilities in the beet fields. If this service to The People™ becomes untenable, at some point, or I'm automated out of a job, I'll consider that as a career option.
