Estonia is beginning the process of limiting the rights of Russians in their country as they understand the security risks involved. Estonia has also deported the Russian Orthodox metropolitan (equivalent to a cardinal in the Roman Catholic Church) because of his pro-Russian, pro-invasion speeches.

When Ukraine took similar measures about a year ago for precisely the same reasons, the Ukrainian government was denounced by some uninformed western reporters of banning Christianity. However, those who have borders with Russia know how Russia will use any institution to expand its influence.
