The county FEMA director (whatever they're called -- MEMA?) was at the mouse resort on Oahu, couldn't be bothered to leave because the food was too good.  The water resources kommisar for Maui declared firefighting to be an inappropriate use of 'sacred' water resources.  (They really believe that voodoo).

The missus and I own a penthouse apartment in Waikiki.  We had a FEMA rep staying there to oversee Maui (what!?) response.  She asked to have the leather furniture replaced, because it was old.  She was staying there 2 months and wanted new furniture.  And, as expected, totally unqualified for her job.  From her linked account photo, not amongst the food insecure.

It was Doctor Chicago returning home from the war against capitalism, only to learn he's just another comrade who used to own a home and enjoy a lifestyle, just like those squatting in a penthouse on Waikiki. That furniture was antibellum II and had to be looted like the Big House on the Plantation so that she could Build Back Better, ET.
