Party Setback in the Senate!

Awful news, Comrades! Our efforts to muzzle radio conservative class enemies in the Senate has hit a roadblock.

The U.S. Senate today scored a major victory for broadcaster freedom. As we've been reporting to you, Sen. DeMint had introduced an amendmentstating that the FCC shall not have the authority to prescribe anyrule, regulation, policy, doctrine, standard, guideline, or otherrequirement that has the purpose or effect of reinstating orrepromulgating (in whole or part) the Fairness Doctrine or any similarrequirement that broadcasters meet programming quotas or guidelines forissues of public importance. Simply put, Sen. Demint's Amendmentprohibits the FCC from requiring broadcasters to always air both sidesof a controversial issue.

Dammit Comrades! The bill passed 87-11 and is now in the House. We must ensure they change it back so we can silence the conservative Thought Criminals on the radio. Otherwise this effort will be for naught and the conservatives will continue to broadcast their Thought Crime, brainwashing more proles into believing that Capitalism is not the problem, but Socialism. This must not be allowed.

If only comrade Franken had been seated in the Senate, he would've surely found the extra votes to defeat the measure in the trunk of his car.

Comrades, comrades have no worry! The House of Representatives is more equal and will squash this legislation under it's mighty fist.

We don't want them to squash it, Comrade. This legislation was a Party idea, its purpose being to allow us to reinstate the "Fairness Doctrine". However, the evil rethuglicans managed to plant an amendment that made it useless, and the Party members in the Senate forgot to check it. We want the bill passed, but the amendment gone.

To arms comrades!

You are right Comrade Joe, this bill must be sent to the bill gulag, but I think Comrade Red Jim is right, we should have a better chance in the House.

I read too quickly comrade. Of course, there will be no similar amendment in the House bill and in conference we will exclude rethuglikkkans once again. The Demint amendment will be disappeared and the airwaves will be free and balanced again.

It's a tactical ruse, comrades. You forget how Comrade Dick Durban managed to pass his amendment, which makes provision "to encourage and promote diversity in communication media ownership, and to ensure that the public airwaves are used in the public interest."
