"Agency plan to take over meal assessments gets pushback from Joint Finance Committee

The Delaware Division of Services for Aging and Adults with Physical Disabilities was met with pushback from the Joint Finance Committee Wednesday regarding the agency’s proposed plan to take over assessments for the eligibility of those looking to receive meals at home.

DSAAPD director Melissa Smith said this change is necessary to see if the meal participant has access to all services and care coordination. The DSAAPD would be responsible for oversight and administration, which will remove this burden from the food provider, Ms. Smith said.

JFC Chairman Sen. Trey Paradee, D-Dover, raised the concern this new process will take longer than the current Meals on Wheels program, which is widely used in the state. Sen. Paradee used the example of caring for his mother, saying his siblings enrolled her in Meals on Wheels and the whole process took 24 hours before food was delivered."

The obvious solution to this ghastly turn of events is to raise a call for the Nationalization of Meals on Wheels! Imagine the efficiencies of a vast bureaucracy in The Center Of The Universe Washington DC. Any Komrad who has ever stood in line at the DMV, applied for MEDICARE, submitted a VA Claim, applied for a building permit, etc knows just how efficient and effective vast government bureaucracies can be.

I urge our Overt Party Leaders to call for an immediate end to the unacceptable anarchy of the current Meals On Wheels program. Where is the central planning? How could this abomination have escaped our notice until now?

Most equally esteemed Red Salmon, the Delaware People’s Finance Ministers’ method of feeding their own elderly parents through job creation of Meals on Wheels is a refinanced idea.

Young ‘pelipsky, growing up in the primitive area known as East Texazistan re-memories the neighborhood’s Meals on Wheels program. A freed black man -East Texazistan, comrades, —-would arrive with a mule pulled wagon loaded with vegetables. ‘pelipsky and all the other street urchins would hurriedly alert Mothers of the arrival of The Okra Man.

Every comrade was fed, including the mule. It was the most environmentally friendly event in the collected neighborhood.

Primitive East Texazistan was ahead of planked curve in regards to Meals on Wheels.

Re-education in the Delaware People’s Finance Ministry might just be progress when it comes to ensuring vulnerable senior parents of Finance Ministers in Delaware.

Red Salmon: This is all quite discouraging. Knowing the hassles I went through to get on Medicare, I can imagine what it would be like trying to get through the bureaucracy to get on Meals-on-Wheels.

I may be able to stretch this out for a while as my wife, who is 6-years younger than me, will be able to keep me fed before needing to get on the program too. However, she will need some help shooting and packing out a yearly moose, as I can't make it without moose meat.

Wait a sec, I doubt Meals-on-Wheels serves moose meat unless they get on the roadkill list. Whew! They probably are, so no more worries!
