Gabriel Over the White House II

Comrades,

I have reviewed the current remake of this classic film and award it 5 acorns. A brief description of the film is posted below:

Gabriel Over the White House is a 1933 American Pre-Code film starring Walter Huston that has been variously described as a "bizarre political fantasy" or a "comedy drama" that "is surprisingly socialist in tone (albeit veering toward National Socialism)" and which "posits a favorable view of fascism."

In the first few minutes of this film, U.S. President Barack Hussein Obama is portrayed as an innocent outsider, an ineffectual do-gooder. He's like a black Jimmy Carter, and considered harmless by those around him. Suddenly, a near fatal accident alters both his life and the course of history when he trips over the family dog, tumbles down a flight of stairs and goes into a coma. Through what some would call divine intervention, Obama miraculously recovers and emerges a changed man - an activist politician.

Without warning, President Obama purges his entire cabinet. When Congress begins impeachment proceedings, he dissolves the legislative branch and personally takes responsibility for making new laws. He then begins the total transformation into an all powerful dictator by ordering the formation of a new “Army of Construction” answerable only to him. He spends billions on one “shovel ready” program after another.

Obama's newfound powers are exercised to their fullest when he suspends all civil rights, imposes martial law, employs a small band of storm troopers to insure compliance, and revokes the Constitution. When resistance to his dictatorial reign is encountered, he suspends the law and has the “enemies of the people” executed by firing squad after a brief star chamber show trial. Finally, as icing on the cake, Obama blackmails the world's governments into disarmament, ushering in a new era of global peace.

As a result of his unprecedented actions, Obama is declared a hero for solving all the nation's problems and bringing peace to both our country and the world. In the end, he is universally acclaimed “the greatest president who ever lived.” The Library of Congress proclaims that he, “reduced unemployment, lifted the country out of depression, battled gangsters and the Congress, and brought about world peace.”

Obama saw the movie several times and enjoyed it. Michelle Obama wrote that “if a million unemployed marched on Washington... I'd do what the President did in this picture.”

Jonathan Alter, former editor for Newsweek commented: “That the Rooseveltian hero of the popular film was a dictator must have seemed an advantage to the real-life president. It would help pave the way for precipitous action, if the role required it.”

This realistic portrayal of the present and future is wonderful. I'm waiting with bated breath for the surge of character assassinations prior to the midterm revolution of '14. What we need NOW is The National Police Force as described by Comrade Obama in 2008 and a surge in MSM control for our tremendous victory.
