'Hillary of the Flower Moon' Changed by Scorsese to Meet Oscar Diversity Standards

Hollywood, CA -- Rumors swirling in Hollywood this week indicate the recent release "Killers of the Flower Moon" was originally going to be about the massacre of people close to the Clinton family in the years 1977 - 1994 and had a working title of "Hillary of the Flower Moon."  The plot was shifted to the Osage Indian killings midway through development when the Oscars implemented their Representation and Inclusion Standards in September, 2020.

Both are based on true stories. Both are terrifying stories of multiple cold-blooded murders to acquire wealth and power.  Both involved flimsy coverups which weren't investigated by the authorities.  Both stories have corrupt white antagonists.

It was reported that director Martin Scorsese felt the Osage story would meet the new Best Picture requirements more effectively, since it involved white people murdering minorities.  The Hillary version had white people murdering other white people, forcing him to race-swap some of the characters for Oscar consideration.  A secondary reason was his desire to 'live many more years and eventually die peacefully of natural causes.'

A Hollywood insider who asked not to be named stated "it was a fast pivot to be sure, but the main plots were so similar it required few rewrites.  It was mostly character name changes and the time period; set pieces, costumes, that sort of thing.  The biggest difference was the way the stories ended.  The version we released ends with the perpetrators facing justice, which is more satisfying than the other version."

Perhaps they ought to have just named it "Hiligula." Arkancide is real...
