Most exciting news today!

Papa Obama is bringing our progressive movement closer to a social utopia.

A gov't that exists by regulation alone, yes indeed. Elections, the people, legislative process etc are highly over-rated and so...so bourgeois.

Most people don't remember Obamacare's notorious Section 1233, which mandated government payments for end-of-life counseling. It aroused so much anxiety as a possible first slippery step on the road to state-mandated late-life rationing that the Senate never included it in the final health-care law.

Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D.,Ore.), author of Section 1233, was delighted. “Mr. Blumenauer's office celebrated ‘a quiet victory,' but urged supporters not to crow about it,” reports the New York Times. Deathly quiet. In early November, his office sent an e-mail plea to supporters: “We would ask that you not broadcast this accomplishment out to any of your lists . . . e-mails can too easily be forwarded.” They had been lucky that “thus far, it seems that no press or blogs have discovered it. . . . The longer this regulation goes unnoticed, the better our chances of keeping it.”

So much for Democratic transparency — and for their repeated claim that the more people learn what is in the health-care law, the more they will like it. Turns out ignorance is the Democrats' best hope.

Whereas Lincoln brought these words,
"...that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."
so as to remind us that those who died in the Civil war did not die in vain


Papa Obama has done the same for the 111th Congress by bringing a new progressive approach to gov't, he will not let their defeat go down in vain

Also, this helps accommodate our transition between the capitalist class society and the classless society, so well.

If I may be as bold to paraphrase the lovey and gracious Michelle Obama,

for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country because it feels like Progressivism is finally making a comeback

The French Revolution was a fine example of a "progressive" revolution for the people.
The leaders always had the people on their minds.

While you may favor the French version, it was actually a refinement of the "Scottish Maiden", which came years earlier. It did have a flat blade, but worked every time.
The main reason was a 75 pound weight added to the blade before it dropped.

Gravity works every time, with the added weight there were no encores required!

It was just as effective as the later "improvement".
