Comrades, I cannot make this stuff up.
First the poster I saw today on my way to work day of shared communal labor for the community.

PMR Statement of Nonviolence

Approved 18 February 2007

We,the members of Port Militarization Resistance (PMR), believe thatnon-violent social change is a means for people to discover their ownpower through the peaceful resolution of conflicts, the creation ofdemocratic structures, and the realization of justice - not merevictory. While working in this group we commit ourselves to thefollowing principles:

1) We seek to win over our opposition by changing their minds rather than through degradation and humiliation.

2) We are willing to make personal sacrifices in order ensure freedom and justice for all people - even our opponents.

3) We shall refrain from physical assaults, verbal harassment, and malicious sabotage. "

There you have it folks, a statement of nonviolent progressive behavior from a group who puts out progressive nonviolent flyers. Oh the Glorious World of Next Tuesday(TM) is upon us, I can feel it!

If they want to make sacrifices, I shall send them my address.

If these comrades are really willing to make sacrifices. We could use a few extra policemen here in the Texas Southern City of Palmetto bugs (a place that comrade Theocritus loathes), so if they could sacrifice all manner of law enforcement and replace the pursuit of burglars, rapists, wife beaters, robbers, murderers, and the like with their peaceful, more civilized methods, we would be glad to accommodate them. And as for the "mind changing" strategy, they should consider Jifi-LoboTM.

Indeed I can see a PMR activist sitting down with a rapist now. Trying to understand their inner feelings, accepting them for who they are, and telling them it is ok to be themselves. But then they would grab their child and stand in front of an Army hummer outside a recruiting station to keep it from moving, and the rapist would go off and rape some more people.

Oh Comrades this gets even more delightfully Progressive!

Rally: A rally is planned for 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2009, at the Tacoma Federal Courthouse steps, 1713 Pacific Avenue, to hear speakers and to peacefully demonstrate against the Afghanistan troop surge and military equipment being deployed from the Port of Tacoma . Everyone is invited to join this family friendly event with voices, signs, and conviction. The message to the Obama Administration and to the Congress is to “End the Wars Now!”

Yes, this Ruckus in Tacoma is now a family friendly event! I weep with the realization that true socialism is near. With peace loving protesters and their family friendly events, soon there will be no need for our glorious Red Guard(TM). Everyone will simply loot and destroy themselves!

Surely, exalted one, I did not mean to disparage Texas cities. I went to college in Houston at that bastion of white male oppression William Marsh Rice University and as I was swotting up the DiffEQ and the vector calculus I was feeling very guilty for, er, not marching in solidarity with the masses. Instead I sat inside and learned useless things like integration by parts. Which are of not use for the Progressive World of Next Tuesday™.

And I have very equal feelings for Corpus Christi. The Omni Bayfront, Republic of Texas Restaurant, Water Street, Black Diamond. And I also have very equal feelings for South Padre Island: Bridgepoint, Scampi's. And Galveston: Gaido's, although I have less than equal feelings for what must be the new generation taking over now.

But I do condemn them all for being places where capitalist pigs can truly enjoy themselves in nice surroundings eating very good food while in the Lone Star State. When I know that my socialist muse would have me bowing before Yelling Elena in abject terror of my Thoughtcrime™.

Here in Texas there are, sadly, few beet fields. But I shall take my shovel and hoe and hie me hence to the bell pepper fields.

7.62, I do urge you to go to that assembly. Perhaps you can find some life-partner with good Progressive values. I do not recommend though that you present her with a Husqvarna for her legs. They don't like it.

User avatar
My guess is most of these people haven't been vaccinated. Anyone with whooping cough, diphtheria, measels, TB, etc., care to drop by and make a contribution? Do your part by shaking hands, sharing organic FairTrade™ snacks and beverages, and speaking in the "spray it, don't say it" format recommended by 4 out of 5 progressives?

User avatar
Didn't the government develop some super-slippery substance a few years back for crowd control? It would be great fun to coat the meeting area and watch people slip right into the bay. The preparations would be intense, but I've got the codename: Preparation H (for hippies).

User avatar
I'm laying odds that this peaceful family event turns violent.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! I wonder if these people are so deluded that they really believe they can convince the jihadists to lay down their weapons and be peaceful. For they are our true "opposition".

User avatar
Comrade Joe, I believe by their opposition, they refer to the warmongering oppressive imperialistic United States. They seek to prevent any military cargo from going out OR coming in (really they rioted two years ago over the RETURN of military equipment from Iraq) via any publicly owned port facilities. "Not in our port" was the usual thing heard. Meanwhile, back in the real world...

I will keep the collective informed as the peaceful family friendly gathering goes down tonight in Tacoma. After all when we have the same group saying to "Bring the Ruckus" and "It's a family friendly gathering" who knows what hilarity can ensue?

User avatar
But if they're against war how is anyone supposed to stop bad guys?

By opening gulags for capitalists!

User avatar
There are no bad guys except Rethuglicans. Everyone else is repressed by DWEMs.

User avatar
From now on when we have military equipment going through the area we're going to announce it as a shipment of "Hugbots."

Comrades, we have not heard from our Dear friend and comrade Colonel 7.62 he has not checked in after yesterdays events. If we have not heard anything by tomorrow morning I shall send a fully armed squad of my Goons Highly Trained Troopers, (hell even if he does report in I'll most likely send them anyway). I think the Goons highly trained troopers need a training mission. They are actually looking forward to going to Tacoma filling baseball bats with lead, as well as putting nails in them.

Heck even our beloved dog Mr. Giggles is looking forward to the trip. One of my Troopers was pretending to be in Apocalypse Now, took a 1911 belt fed machine gun and started firing it screaming "GET SOME". I sent him over to Jiffy Lobo for a quick tune up.

Just another one of our Progressive groups doing The Party's work.

Just another "non-violent" group using violence in some way to advance their cause. I've got some violence for them, it's called my foot!

Is it me, or are these guys some off-shoot of the ACLU? The ACLU wants to ensure the civil liberties of everyone, by denying Christianity to those who worship it. These guys want everyone to believe their views by using non-violent methods, yet I'd bet they'd get violent if they wanted to advance their cause.

User avatar
{ off }In general I quite agree with your stance about the ACLU but to do it credit there are uses for it. In Nevada for example it's a good thing. I swear it it. I have a friend who's a director, and he's told me of cases that they've taken and they were governmental abuses of power. Big ones. He's a conservative.

Also the ACLU defended those loathsome Nazis when they marched in Skokie, Illinois. Which was chosen for the number of Jews, and in particular Holocaust survivors there. They won, although it cost them 30,000 members. I personally would like the Nazis to all start killing themselves and shoot the survivor, but there really are reasons for the ACLU. A few.

Perhaps I was stereotyping both groups, and yes, the ACLU does have it's good moments. I guess the ones you hear the most about are the ones the majority of people disagree with the most.
