Rights for undocumented enemy combatants and malcontents

In an effort to lend more appreciation to the plights of repressed minority groups, the White House has announced a change in public policy that would work to eliminate the usage of such phrases as "traitor," "defector," and "deserter" in speeches, briefings, and official documents.

Saying that such pejoratives unfairly marginalize and belittle groups of people, discriminating based upon their allegiance, White House officials are urging Americans to eliminate such language from their Newspeak dictionaries.

Better alternatives to the unspeakable words include "undocumented foreign citizen," "undocumented enemy combatant," and "undocumented shirker."

The White House also urged members of Congress to arrive at a reasonable compromise on defection reform legislation.

Senator Harry Reid told House Republicans, whom he called "zealots of obstruction," to "stop playing politics with the rights of absconded Americans."

It is unclear as of yet whether any compromise will include food stamps, college tuition, and military service for undocumented foreign enemy combatants and malcontents.

Suggested slogans for spontaneous mass rallies and protest are as follows:

  • No terrorist is illegal
  • Butchers of civilians deserve a civilian court!
  • Labels hurt! Suicide bombers are people too!
  • Full rights to foreign enemy combatants and malcontents!
  • Discrimination of fighters upon their allegiance is oppressive and hurtful!

I am liking the term "errant Americans." Or perhaps "circumambulating citizens."

I favor the terms "non-signatory to the Geneva accords" and "five rounds of 7.62x54R from the People's Court."
